This man is single-handedly making A visual Bible for the Masters of the Universe Thank you so much for that
These are awesome!
Well thank you so much! Please feel free to share these with friends online. It helps the channel a ton!
IKR? And he also shows off amazing fan-made customs.
@bundymatos: did you know there already is a visual guide in hardcover? www.amazon.es/dp/B08PJR1ZLX?fbclid=IwAR3TCZ4YdDHqRJHhtKKHnv8R7tMvu7LMa67pFMDoH4J7zdg2ME8q0_6Wbvs
Also there is online version by Wakko.
And the Dark Horse ToyGuide is coming April/May too about Classics toys and vintage.
Absolutely loved Classics Swift Wind. You guys knocked it out of the ballpark with that figure!
Gotta love a pretty horsey
Even without all the licensing hurdles, it seems like a horse would be a pain in the butt to design and execute. One thing about Classics, there was a lot of love poured into the line!
Oh yes, to say this was a labor of love is just scratching the surface
I love to sit in front of my laptop in the evening, smoke my pipe comfortably and enjoy my goof tobacco and watch your wonderful videos. Swift Wind is one of the most beautiful Classics product that ever appeared
A horse I have right in my office ontop of my Grayskull Castle
Love this channel I dont collect classics but I collect vintage and the love of motu on this channel makes the world a better place lol . Wish I got on board with classics when they started because it's way to expensive to start a collection in 2021
Yeah it is shocking the aftermarket on these now!
I love Horses myself, & i'm an adult male, I also really like Unicorns as well, the Fantasy of them is very cool to me. I wish they were real! LOL Always liked Swiftwind from the original line, my sister had it in her She-Ra Collection, which I played with along with my He-Man figures. Great Vid as always Guru, Gotta Love It!
Hey I have Swifty on the top of Grayskull right when you walk into my office. Flying Unicorns rule!
I remember the crystal ones smelling like vanilla or cupcakes or cotton candy or something sweet like that. Wow just seeing them triggered that memory.
I still have all of my MOTU and POP stuff ...some things out, some in my childhood attic.
Oh smelly toys. The best!
Laughed at the Dirty Dancing reference.
I do try! ;-)
I was pleasantly surprised to see one of my old customs at 6:31. :)
Nice. Happy to give you credit in the description. Contact me through Spectorcreative.com!
@@spectorcreative1872 No need to credit me. It was just a nice surprise to see it in there. :)
Awesome stuff.
Glad you like! Tell your friends. ;-)
Just imagine if you had made a half dozen more horses. Hordak and Skeletor team up, beat down the masters, He-Man looks to the West, and in rides She-Ra with a full Cavalry to save the day.
Then we could have a race!
Awesome stuff. MOTUC Swiftwind goes for a pretty hefty price now. I’m talking $300+!
wow, I had no idea
Wow, loads of bonus info in this one! Thank you!
1:19 - Flashback to the absolutely hilarious 1990s "George of the Jungle" movie, the scene at the country club: "What is it with chicks and horses?"
That is too funny. Shoudl have used that
The fact that we never got Spirit in MOTUC still gets me down. If we'd gotten Spirit, Odiphus, and Skeleteen, I'd feel better about its end.
Songster would've been gravy.
If the line had kept going!
He looks amazing. I have the Club Grayskull She-Ra and I can't wait to get him. It's going to be a while before I can, so hopefully he's still available on eBay
Still one of my favorites
So by adding these horses to the She-Ra line of toys, you guys weren't horsing around?
Oh a man who would pin would pick your pocket
Of course, of course!
Really? Had to go there huh :-)
Informative as always, Scott. But now I have to demand a behind-the-scenes look at the design process for - what was it? Clawdine? Complete with a list of substances ingested and/or inhaled.
The only thing ingested was cheese doodles. In bulk
You kind of glossed over it but I think we should get a video talking about how you guys finally got the filmation rights and how it was a Game Changer! Who did you talk to to negotiate the rights? Was it Lou or his daughter? Was money the only reason it took too long? Tell us a tale of wonder! I remember it was either sdcc or powercon where your video showcase showed the tease with the filmation soundbite and the crowd went nuts!!! Good times
Oh I will get to that. I am goig in figure order
Wow got up early and edited this one, or did you stay up all night?
Burning the midnight oil, on MOTU,
I imagine many, many times,
;-)
I saw a picture of Hordak with Swiftwinds head mounted on the wall behind him, lol
Much praise to the toy G.O.D.S.
You could have just included two little caps, that snap in and out, to put in the holes, like on furniture.
And attach that thing that goes around it’s neck to the saddle, so it goes over the horses head like a necklace.
Than it would all come off with the saddle.
:-)
I actually work about three weeks ahead. Today I did a video for the last week of Feb
@@spectorcreative1872 oh ok, well so staying up working on next months stuff last night?
;-)
Should have done that with videos, I made my last one about three months ago and the few previous to that about a month apart from each other. When I first started with the yt videos I had a lot more enthusiasm for it than I ended with, lol. I would be working today trying to catch up with a video I should have uploaded three weeks prior. But completely different types of stuff. I got to the point the tediousness of the editing the videos took over and seem to out worth the benefits of creating it, it would take me on average an hour per minute of video to edit, so a seven minute video literally would take me seven hours to edit to RUclips.
I got to the point I was trying to edit every other action changing to the bra of the snare drum of the background song and stuff like that, lol.
Almost 15k 🥳🎉🎊
Red Leader: Almost there...
As a kid, always wondered if there was some sort of connection between Swiftwind and the other She-Ra horses to Stratos and Nightstalker
Well they shared the same tool/mold (which was from an earlier Mattel 1981 line)
HAHAHA! I miss Matty Collector..... Come Black Friday Sales, these items would have great deals!
They were!
I love horses, but only 30/30 from bravestar, bloody badass
Well this horde can be any horse with some effort!
There was a problem with the Swiftwind as well, the object that the wings plugged into on Swiftwind, broke easily, making the wing fall out. I think it was the left one. If you looked in the hole you could see it, especially when it broke. I've debated a number of times gluing the wing, but I'm always afraid that I'll end up accidentally messing up the ability to turn them. Was Arrow supposed to come with wings? I don't recall them.
Yes Arrow did come with wings. And I am sorry if your wings broke, it was not intentional
This and Panthor are my Holy Grails. I hope they reissue them in the Masterverse line.
Me too!
"Do horses have skin?"
Well, the Nuckelavee doesn't!
Someone has been watching Monstrum
@@spectorcreative1872 I had the Monster in My Pocket in the 90s, and that line got me studying mythology...
The Nuckelavee will make a book appearance someday!
(I've even found other Bishop Fish toys. It's crazy!)
@@spectorcreative1872 Hey, nice catch! I love Monstrum. They do great videos.
@@johnmorey720 Bishop Fish was the bane of my existence collecting the second series of MIMP back in the day, haha. I must have about 20 of the suckers!
@@CaptainStarlight And yet it's one of my favorite figures in the whole line!
3:43 Storm the horse looks scared of Catra!
Crystal/clear horses are cool.
I'm Transformers collector (mainly ) but I'm curious do SheRa fans want reissues fo the original toys?
Enjoying your videos.
I think they are more interested in upgrades vs reissues since the original toys were dolls meant to be action figures that were turned into dolls.
It didn't need two toys, just unplug the hair and ears and change it to a different style and have the ear decoration
Glad that worked for you! I thought so in a way too
Jeez that unused Silverstorm bio is really dark. I thought Netflix Catra had her troubles, but if she's jealous of She-ra why not clone Swiftwind? It'd make more sense in universe too if Arrow's not meant to be a flying horse in the canon.
You know I don't recall it off the top of my head, I'll have to go reread it or rewatch the video
I wish you would have done a full Filmation Spirit, instead of Arrow. Just my opinion though. 🙂
It was on the list, but the new team dropped it
@@spectorcreative1872 Was it planned for 2016 then?
Oh did you release the rest of the bios somewhere, if not can we get a lore/storytime video at some point where you share them?
Meaning I used bios? I haven’t fully published those. Maybe Mattel will!
I had no idea all these horses existed.... why didn't we get more cats in MOTU? Faker could have had a blue and orange cat Copy Cat! Stinkor could have had a black and orange cat called Smelly Cat!
If the line had kept going it would have happened! Clawdeen too
Great presentation, however ,not my bag Baby , not my bag. :D
I'm happy to get you a new bag!
@@spectorcreative1872 you already got me BACK into MOTU ...after 20 yrs....i guess its not a huge leap to snag She-RA figs now & then...i guess ?...right?
I mio minipony del 1985, erano carini, ma i my little pony, sono addirittura una melassa.
I didn't know Filmation owned the rights to the color patterns. Are there still any toys/color patterns which Mattel can not do today?
Mattel does not have access to the 1987 movie.
@@spectorcreative1872 I really don't understand how this could happen. I'd imagine a toy company licensing alternate media (in this case film) rights to characters they created and own would insist on reciprocative toy production rights to themselves in perpetuity.
@@AustynSN Very interesting indeed. I also imagined that a toy company like Mattel would own the rights to all designs and variations to a character. Shows how little I knew.
Maby you said this in a earlyer vid but how did motu started,by a show a comic, or the toyline ?
Here you go! ruclips.net/video/PSkOvimG1E8/видео.html
You’ve talked about play patterns before, do you know what the play pattern was for the 40% of girls who bought, or were given, Herman figures in the ‘80s? I’m curious if they played with them like boys did, ie had them fight each other and engage in combat storylines, or if they used them in a different way? I am not referring to how they played with She-ra dolls, although that would be interesting too if girls used them more like action figures than dolls. Thanks for the video!
Playing out stories
I'm a real fan of this as first saw Faker video which remember somebody wanted to buy my original figure for 20 bucks when was younger they put ads in paper for them hehe. In 90's I did like 151-200 Comic Shows as Dealer sold over 100K comics before was 18 at them. They had Action Figures as somebody wanted my Men from Mac I think they were called along with some other random obscure ones I have. I really like hearing history of He-Man stuff though She-Ra the real cartoon or figures stories is cool not the netflix abomination hehe. I wish my Shogun Warriors along with Godzilla were in better condition but somebody in family put them out in rain then maybe had a flood. I wonder do the token Male figures sell well they hard to get like the Female ones they make for lines. I really enjoy watching these things, I blame Ostritches for why Females like Ponies so much as that really started the craze when found they fit people heh.
I blame Ostriches for EVERYTHING. See this video: ruclips.net/video/cbXsdMfdMtA/видео.html
@@spectorcreative1872 Thanks I will :). They always made me think of that classic game Joust. You should make some Playlists for like He-Man related or specific sections to navigate things better. Also consider using the community page. Did AWA use He-Man as those figures were a lot alike I still have my Wrestling Ring too. Maybe they used the same molds or something. I'd like to see something about the Han Solo Kellogs figure if ever get chance.
Off Topic here i know but read on please:
Hey Scott,...Just a FYI YOUR NAME is starting to be REALLY thrown around lately on your videos and everything in toy production etc. The reason is Pixel Dan did a interview with Brian Flynn (Super7) this past Friday i think so check it out if you haven't and EVERYONE is talking about the Thundercats Thundertank reveal and the cost, tooling, license cost etc. Well YOU have been making a HUGE IMPACT on the people of talking about EVERYTHING you did at Mattel in realizing the MOTU CLASSICS line in the scale it came out in. So with that being said your name has got thrown around in talking everywhere even forums about what it takes to make this stuff and molds it costs and the amount of pieces being made. I'm so VERY PROUD OF YOU cause YOU was the FIRST PERSON to pull back the curtain and tell everyone the secrets that companies DON'T want the people like me or you as fan too knowing. Last night JayC from TNI NEWS,Marvelous news etc had a live stream and once again your name was brought up and i had to say Scotts telling us fans WHAT it takes to make this stuff and please watch more of his videos cause hes the FIRST man from the Industry explaining everything,..so frankly I'm proud at what he's doing. You have been making a impact on this cause everyone is complaining and even Haslab $350 mando ship compared costs to it and about the Thundertank being $450 from Super7. It would be REALLY cool of you to maybe touch on it in a video of the talk about it and give YOUR side and YOUR thoughts about it. I'm so happy your doing this in videos so THANK YOU Scott for all you've done so far and can't wait for you to do more. I REALLY appreciate what you did with motu Classics.
Wow Vick that is so kind of you to say. I really am grateful for such feedback. I can definately do a video about things like the Tank and Razer Crest and thanks sharing these videos with friends online, it does help the channel a ton! Thanks for spreading the word
Me la fate 1a cosa? Potete restare i miei cartoni animati preferiti?
On something like He-Man, when they made a mold. How many molds did they make so they could meet demand? Like for the original He-Man figure? I assume there was more than one made.
For Classics only one. For major movie lines like Batman sometimes they make two.
If the original line had the regular he-man along with that year's special version it may not have crashed out when it did. I was such a huge fan back in the day. Classics is too expensive now, but Origins works well for me.
@@spectorcreative1872 I find that interesting on having only one or two molds for retail action figures. Though I'm betting at least some of the molds probably had cut outs for more than one figure. As I believe some parts on figures would have numbers on them indicating what cavity that it came from inside the mold.
Imagine if the crystal horses had visible organs... nah
Mattel made a figure like that in the 70's
midnight edge has the clip youtuber that is it
I like their channel. Good SW stuff
"Do horses have skin?" - 7:53
Do they?
Okay, crystal horses, but " where are their organs?" If you don't know the meme, that is okay....
In some of the dingy neighborhoods on Etheria, they tried to smoke those horses.
Of course depending on the Hoard food rations that month, they’d eat the regular horses.
Ummm. Magic?
Was there any blowback because you threw out the poll?
Surprisingly no.
10:17 "I love democracy"
Don't we all
Ponies are a very specific breed of horse, none of the ones showcased in this video were ponies, stop demeaning good, hard working, imaginary horses by comparing them to ponies! What do you think this is? The channel of a guy that worked at Hasbro for 20 years? You're a Mattel GUY, stop advertising for the competition.
Hey I love ponies too. Especially the Flim Flam twins.
@@spectorcreative1872 BAH, everybody knows Flutershy is best pony! Flim Flam twins, bah humbug, even within the secondary cast they were less the nothing. Now Maud, that was a good secondary character.
Plus, they're Hasbro products, and after what Hasbro did they don't deserve anybodies money.
If little girls love horses so much, than why don't you see them buying Saint Seiya action figures? I triumphantly rest my case.
Because it is a grand Equestrian conspiracy
Unlike the west, Japanese girls are not fans of Horses. There are very few horse farms out here. Hence, why horses of any kind do not sell well in Japan.
what do you think about the kevin smith saying f he-man i don't care about he-man clip going around
First I've heard to confess. I'll need to look this up! Anyone want to send me a link (in a new comment please, not a reply)
u ever think to use clear plastic & paint the inside, to save money on color plasticky?, look a bit weird?
Honestly I had not thought about that but it would need to cost that out. Interesting idea!
@@spectorcreative1872 yer in a nother vid u say u try making everything in black, prob was it scratched of the paint on Skeletor. im thinking if it was clear plastike primed in the skin tone inside then painted outside. scratches ed shoe shinny & inside color. or a good water effect perhaps. :)
Good bye hooorseeeees!
