It is so good, isn't it? I love lettuce season. It's nice not to have to buy it at the store.

I’m so jealous. My lettuce and choi starts bolting in feb-early March. I tried every variety heirloom and hybrid, heading and leaf in different parts of the garden. I tried even growing in the shade or covering with row cover. They would grow but I can only harvest young outer leaves once or twice then they get bitter, milky and bolt. I have tried in spring, fall, summer and winter. Thank God for farmers markets but I still want to plant and harvest successfully. - N. Cali zone10a

That stinks! I am jealous of some of thing things you can grow, like oranges and Avocados. You could always try growing some indoors where the temperature can be controlled. Good luck!
