Nice video and drone footage! 🙌 I own a 2020 4x4 Sprinter camper and I'm planning a trip to Iceland this summer. Were there any water crossings that were too deep or that you had problems with? I ask because although the air intake is quite high, I don't have a snorkel and wonder if it's something that you would recommend for this trip (I know that the doors aren't air-tight so I shouldn't go into anything deep anyway, but water in the engine also worries me 😅)
Snorkel isnt needed. Wading depth on my sprinter is cca 65cm at this moment, air intake is way higher, problem is electronic location. There are ECUs lower. I had some issues. Probably been lucky. We ahve been maybe inside water 80-90cm deep. Woudlnt recommend it. But after easy crossings I have never inspected fords by foot :/. One of them was surprising. Water inside fog lights and some corrosion later on on ecu contacts (months later).
@@matej.stafurik Thank you for such a quick reply! Yeah, wading depth is also 65 cm on mine. I imagine I should worry more about water entering the doors than the air intake even in higher water (as long as I ever gently). I hadn't thought of the ECUs...😅 I guess I should always check water depth before crossing. 😅🙄 I don't have too much experience in 4x4 driving (but not zero either) and I've had the Sprinter for all 3 months. No big travels because of COVID restrictions 😢 I plan on traveling to Iceland with my girlfriend, do you think this trip is too ambitious for my first long trip in the Sprinter? Any special advice? Is a winch essential? (I don't have one at the moment). And a sat-phone? Thank you once more for your reply! 🙏
@@travsformation1 No its not too ambitions, you can drive all F marked roads kind of easy if you check water level. Problem are unmarked roads. Just go slow and steady through water. I never had problem with speinter on Iceland, maybe we have been lucky. On good traction surfaces it goes like wrangler, problem are 3 open diff, if surface gets slippery it goes to shit. One wheel then another, then another your complete stuck. Inside water you gone. Get winch prior to trip. If you have distronic like me, get hitch mount winch installation to front and back.

Beautiful. This is on our list soon!
What is the location please, looks magical.!
Awesome video!
Looks awesome. Anything you don’t like about it? Or recommended mods?
Nice video, shows the capability of the standard Mercedes Sprinter 4X4 system. Did you need the low-range gearbox on this Iceland trip?
Yes it was needed often. Car was several times at borderline of what it could handle.
Check my other video, its less lyrical, with eng subtitles and there is even winch action in it.
@@matej.stafurik thanks for the info
Dream...
👍🏻👍🏻

First of all: Great Video Footage! Are you driving the standard sprinter 4x4 chassis or have you done any modifications?
No modifications in 2019 just 245/75 r16 tires, now there are some in progress

Is this 4x4 or AWD?
Its 4x4 with 3 open diffs and esp
its factory 4x4
