Just bought my first ever Sony handheld last month, a beautiful "Fat" black Vita with OLED screen, I can't be more happy! All the PSone (and some PS2) classics for nostalgia itch, the amazing PSP library which is brand new for me, and these really impressive Vita and indies hits, I need nothing more :) Ah, and your blue Slim is stunning, what a gem !!
What I like about the Vita/Vita Slim: 1. The PSP version of Tekken 6 is playable on the Vita/Vita Slim and the PSP version of Tekken 6's online server still works. 2. It is backwards-compatible with PSP and PS1 games via digital download. 3. It is way better than the PSP series. 4. Awesome fighting games. 5. The Vita/Vita Slim is region-free. 6. It plays online for free without having to pay to play online for a month or a year. 7. There is a controller grip add-on for the Vita Slim that prevents you from touching the rear touch pad. 8. It is way better than the Nintendo DS and Nintendo 3DS series because the Vita does not rely on friend codes. And 9. The Vita Slim has superior rechargeable battery life than the original Vita.
@@MattieKB Oh yeah I believe it.. Even using Craigslist I couldn't find any good deals at all. That's why I waited so long it was all so expensive even used. I was pretty shocked honestly and they didn't advertise it as having a memory card so major bonus!

I am not sure if I am looking in the right place... on system information it says "System Software 3.69" But I did update almost immediately out of the box so I could use online features. Let me know if that is what you wanted to know or not.
@@MattieKB I would say since your Vita appeared to be a 2015 model, it likely came with firmware from that year. In 2015 we had 3.5xx version firmware. Like you, I updated my Japanese Vita immediately and can't remember the original firmware version. Play-Asia lists the aqua blue model as a September 2015 release.
I want to get a Vita from Japan but I see all these warnings about Lithium batteries and customs being an issue and also Import duties, taxes not being included. what does that all mean?

@@coolmanbaby1351 Yeah you can buy original vita systems for a low price, but do your research and decide if you want an original or the "slim/2000" version. The one in my video is the slim. And your items should be fine in the mail, just make sure that the seller has alot of good pictures so you can see the vita before buying it. Anyway, I got my vita new on amazon about a month ago for $210~$200. I wanted to have a spotless new vita and I wanted a new battery that would last as long as possible.

Tbh, i prefer to slim model cuz of the battery life and screen improvement as well but to me, oled screen is good tho but got an eyes damage when lower brightness and bit annoyed. overall it's a good original model but im still prefer to 2000 model. Marcela Hernandez it is not region locked, but unlike a playstation, it can only have 1 account logged in, and if you want to switch accounts you have to delete your current profile data. So your account can be set to whatever region you want and physical games will all work, but there are different games available in the online store based on your profile’s region. So if you want games only available in different regions you will need two vitas, but this is true for all vitas, not just the one I have. But most people don’t run into that issue. 👍
@@scottsamuels30 It's ok. The frame rate is pretty slow and its a little different aiming with a little tiny analog stick compared to a regular sized playstation controller. But overall it is playable. I just have beaten the game on PS3 and I tried it on vita, and it was ok, but I just don't want to beat it again right now. But it is a stripped down version, some things aren't as graphically sharp and I noticed alot of backround music and audio were missing. But that's to be expected on a handheld. And the PS3 version was like 8gb and the vita version is like 5.5gb But I have found that alot of games that were made for vita run great, and alot of games that were made for another system and then ported to the vita are playable, but have much lower frame rates. I personally own borderlands 2 and killzone and killzone is great! I would personally recommend getting borderlands 2 on a home console but if you dont have one and just want to experience the game then go for it!
Yes! You can play any physical game cartridge that is for the PS vita, and when you turn on your vita for the first time you can set it to any country you would like and then you can get games from that countries playstation network store.
o1h8 Some people like japanese games and there are alot that are only on the japanese store (so you would register your vita for japan). but unless you are already into those, whatever country you live in will be fine.
I was checking out Playstation all stars since I had it free from PS plus. (I don't really recommend it.) and checking out borderlands 2 which isn't nearly as nice as the console version. Alot of the vita exclusive games ive played are great like uncharted, but alot of the ps3 and ps ports have been pretty choppy. But I have a ton of games coming in the mail like little big planet, some ps2 collecction games like sly cooper and jak and daxter, killzone, call of duty, final fantasy, and a couple more.

@@tedjoseph8634 Here is something I learned that will help you, make sure to check the prices on physical and downloadable games. Sometimes a game will be far more expensive physically.. and sometimes it costs twice as much to download! Also make sure you take into account the price of vita memory. I divided the price of a memorycard by the number of gigabytes it had. For example, that way when a game similar in price to download or to buy physically, I can see how much 3 gigs of memory will truly cost me.

What firmware when you bought it and did you update it? If you did update it to 3.69 or 3.70 that means you can’t mod.

I'd recommend getting a used vita mate! It's significantly cheaper for a system that works just like a brand new one(if you're lucky).

Yes I do! I beat it on the PS3 but I never platinum'd it. I was going to keep chipping away at the trophy list on my vita now that I have one.
