The one time I had to give my cat a bath, she was so terrified that I ended up in the bath tub with her. She finally calmed down and just curled up around me in the water. BEST BATH EVER
The one time I had to give my cat a bath, she was also terrified that I ended up in the bath tub with her. Then she po*ped 💩 on me. WORST NIGHTMARE EVER.
I have been using Earthbath for my cat since he was about 10 weeks old I love it. About $15 for a bottle but he only gets bathed every 4-6 weeks so it lasts a long time. Fragrance-free but still leaves him smelling fresh and his coat soft.
Could you review the best toothpaste/dental cleaning products for cats? Really struggling to brush my kitty’s teeth she seems to hate every toothpaste I try
I use earthbath fragance free on my cats because it’s gentle and it doesn’t lather that much. I just gave my cats a bath one after 6 months. I don’t tend to give them frequent baths but they require one at least every six months.
I am getting a kitten in a few weeks. So, I’ve been educating myself about how to care for him in all ways to give him the best quality of life as possible. Extremely informative! Thank you!
My housemate works with the rescue and she says dawn dish soap is helpful when your cat has fleas. You need to shower them a bit longer (about 5 minutes) than when you give them a regular shower. I’ve never had to wash Papas (myself) thankfully. The most was using a baby wipe to get some poop that was dangling💩 Also thank you for the reviews
Worked 8 years in a vet clinic - for fleas get some Capstars will kill all fleas within 24 hrs and do not use a dog flea shampoo - it has an ingredient that is poisonous for your cat. Then it is best to treat the cat montly for 3 months with a product sold at the vet like Advantage. If you use a shampoo, get one specifically designed for cats like Chubbs bar.
Thank you for your video! You always have great content. Any time a notification from your channel pops up is a must watch for me! A little side note on this topic would be that Dawn is NOT cruelty free. They do test on an animals, so to me it's a no immediately.
You're suppose to dilute Earthbath shampoo it says on the bottle it is ultra concentrated. I use this once a week on my Sphynx and 1 bottle has lasted forever!
There are several shampoos which my friends have used like oatmeal shampoos ( several brands ) , another from Burts Bees & another from Wahl. I would never put dawn on a cat. Unless it had motor oil on it . !!
My go to is water wipes 99.9% water the baby ones for my boy as he’s majority white and a fluffy boy and often gets dirty face and paws and when he was a kitten and ever had upset tummy would use to help clean his behind area hahaha
Odd, I was just thinking about what kind of shampoo to use on my 16 year old cat. He is getting a little lax on his grooming. He doesn't have fleas and all I currently have is flea shampoo. There's a review idea: flea shampoo. I have only used Harts and Sergeants with the latter having worked the best. I bought it over 5 years ago and the stuff still kills fleas. The Harts got tossed because it quit working after a couple years.
Hartz shampoo has harmed and killed pets. Seriously I would NOT use it. For fleas, the best preventive/treatment is something from the vet. I personally use Revolution.
For me I want to give my kitty a nice bath since I just adopted her and then at max it would be a 2 or 3 time a year routine. What I think I'm gonna do is use a non scented waterless shampoo after some further research. It is also safe for cats to lick. Then I'll use a cat wipe to get off the excess residue.
No Dawn on any animal unless there is an emergency. It has two agents associated chemicals, it is the wrong pH and unsure why you would say otherwise. It is a last* resort for animals that have topical contamination. People who perpetuate the myth that Dawn is a good option need to spend some time and investigate why they are in the wrong.
My pH test found that it was similar to the other shampoos shown here and came the closest to 7, which is recommended. Regarding the other chemicals, I will have to look into it. I know this is an area of controversy.
my cats like to roll in dirt and one has environmental allergies, i bathe them every 2-3 months or whenever they start to look grimy. we try and do it quickly so it’s less stressful for them and they tolerate it okay most of the time
We had one cat who would pee and poop in her carrier on the ride to AND from the vet and would sadly be covered... every time, even with towels or liners. She didn’t like showers but didn’t fight either. It was a necessary evil. 😔
Sorry to hear that. You may just need to bathe her again, making sure to get in any hard-to-reach places. If she has a long, thick coat, that may be holding some of the pee smell, and you may need to consider shaving as a last resort (certainly not ideal if it's cold where you live).
Any thoughts on shampoo that doesn’t need to be rinsed out? I’m fostering an old cat with kidney disease that doesn’t groom herself well. I’ve used a leave in foam a few times on her but I’m not pleased with the residue it leaves behind.
My geriatric felines get bathed once a month. They actually seem to enjoy their spa day. I have been using Hylyt but now cannot find it anywhere. It must be discontinued. 😞
Thank you for your video! My 1 year old cat will be getting his second bath ever soon (1st bath was after we found him outside) .. and I was looking for good shampoos. He seems to be having a problem with dry skin so I’m hoping earthbath and maybe some coconut oil after that bath with help!:) thanks for all the helpful information!
Can you give your thoughts on Walmart's brand cat wipe/ingredients? "Vibrant Life Vanilla Coconut Deodorizing Wipes for Cats & Kittens". They are popular and sell out fast at mine, thank you!
My cat isn’t very good at cleaning himself and he has dandruff and his fur on his back looks and feels really oily, I’ve only given him a bath twice and I think he really needs one he stinks too haha
does anyone know if Well & Good oatmeal cat shampoo is safe for cats. i bought it before thinking about if it’s safe ‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️
Hello! Love all your videos! Is there possible have a cleaning spray products reviewing video? Like how to clean toy, cat tree, cat bed, or human bed, but doesn’t hart cat. I am so afraid of using some dangerous or wrong cleaning products. Thanks a lot!
I have had two cats get motor oil on them I couldn't get them to cooperate for a full bath since cats hate water on them How do you get cats to be a willing participant in a shampoo?
Our rescue cat is still not comfortable being picked up or held. (She's cuddly when she wants to be.) I've noticed she has some matted poop on her bottom, and don't how to clean her up since she's so non-compliant. What would you suggest?
Do you think you could manage to get a wipe to her bottom? That would be a first step, but I'm thinking that you're going to need to trim or shave that area to get off the matted poop and prevent further matting. Of course, that would be a whole other ballgame and I think the trick is going to be to pull out your cleaning or trimming tools when your cat is relaxed and ready for cuddles.
Brittney, yes. Baby shampoo tends to be more alkaline and can be a good option. Check the ingredient list to make sure it's a simple, fragrance-free formulation.
Good! I know that they have a kitten shampoo and a dry one, both of which seem to be pretty decent options. If we'd done a longer list, I'd have included them here.
Assuming you don't have a hairless breed, your cat shouldn't need a regularly "scheduled" washing at all! They're generally capable of their own grooming. It's only for when sudden problems arise such as them getting oil or cheese on them (like malorie said) or covering themselves in poop (happened to my cat...).
As 123firebird4 noted, there is no regular schedule for cleaning a cat, unless they are a hairless breed. Forest has been bathed once in the last 6 years, and Wessie's been bathed a handful of times in the last 12.

@@AllAboutCatsYT Thanks :) So I have recently ordered the Open Air 3 Litter Robot for my two cats. What would be the best clumping clay litter for you? I've heard of Tidy cats, Ever clean and World's Best Cat Litter. I'm looking for a good one, not too dusty and a litter that will not stick to my cats fur or paws as we are in an appartment. Thanks a lot in advance.
None, necessarily. The recommendation to avoid scented products is largely based on speculation that our cats *might* be uncomfortable with foreign scents on their body. Considering that cats are so fastidious about their cleanliness and generally want nothing to do with anything that might change their natural smell, this makes sense. However, we don't know for certain that these fragrances will be irritating, either mentally or physically.
Those wipes were interesting until you showed that it contained aloe vera which I’ve read can be pretty toxic to cats if ingested. I’d definitely stay clear of that for my cute evil twins!
Hi there, good point, but pet products that contain aloe vera are processed to exclude the components that may be harmful to cats: animalwellnessmagazine.com/aloe-vera-safe-dogs-cats/
