Very interesting video! Everywhere else I looked, it seems like the fissure was often referred to as the 5th restriction, but seems like they're different? Has anyone gone past the 5th restriction?
@@dcainret ah so that's the no mount restriction. On maps I've seen online there's only 4 restrictions, but I remember Edd saying that part isn't mapped since only a hand full of people have ever been in. Thanks for clarifying.
I'm a bigger guy, so it's too tight back there for my taste. I have considered trying to tackle it with side mounts, but Vortex is not that cool of a dive IMHO to warrant the effort.
There are lots of hiding spots of to the side that he could be hidden in - undiscovered caves that he got into and could get out of. I am no expert by any means but maybe a mini underwater drone could investigate area where man cannot get to
Charles Napier you would think by now that there would be some sort of technology to do just that. I guess the problem is that it’s just unknown how many little crevices etc there truly are down there. At first I was convinced his body just had to be there but when you see this and just how tiny the spaces are , I just can’t see how he could have fitted
From what I've studied people are still better than drones. Divers are constantly being sent in to retrieve expensive drones that lose signal get caught on stuff etc
@@keithsugueymccartneymelara7701 You are correct look at Bushman's Hole with Deon Dryer. They sent in a robot that surveyed the entire cave floor and couldn't find his body. But David Shaw managed to find it when he was diving.
This portion of the cave was originally surveyed by Steve Keene. He was with his team, which consisted of Jason Gulley and Sue Sharples. That survey, Steve Keene no mounted to where the End Of the Line is at in the 5th restriction. Edd Sorrenson has stated that he has also pushed to that point too when looking for Ben Mcdaniels.
Ben McDaniel's is why I asked actually. I follow missing person cases and I know I heard one rescue diver say that he was positive he wasn't in there. Can't remember who though. My opinion on that is even if he somehow made it past the 5 restriction then he would have likely gotten at least halfway out after encountering whatever problem he encountered. Unless it was a black out. I have felt since day one the employee who gave him the key knows more than he's saying..

CRINGE? This is epic, dude. "Also sprach Zarathustra" is the perfect music for venturing a "new frontier." If it's cringy or cheesy that's only because the piece has been parodied and overused too much in popular culture. Still an epic theme to use.
I'm surprised you didn't go right up to the 5th restriction. What's it like up close, and do you think anyone could've gotten past it?
This deserves so many more views
Thank you for watching
Awesome, Video!! And the song 👍great job!! 👍🤿
Thanks for watching Saul
What's that to your left at 4:29? An air pocket? Thanks for the video
Send a lil robot down there to map the 5th

Yes, Steve Keene, Eduardo and Edd. It is a no mount restriction.

The 5th restriction looked more open than some of the parts you went through. Why didn’t you go in there? It looked like a big open area
5th restriction is a no mount. We had planned only to survey up to where we stopped.
@@dcainret what is a “no mount”
@@catsmith233 I believe you have to take your tanks with air off
Push your cylinder in front of you is no mount
@@dcainret gotcha thanks
Awesome work 🤙🏼🤙🏼
After all this time they still haven't found bens body
I believe he’s there past the 4th restriction

Hey Rob, I'm a big guy too so yes, this area is a sidemount area.
Still an awesome video my friend, and I appreciate the upload.
Why do you call it the Trash Room and why can’t you go in there?
Named trash room since the flow comes out of the 5th it dumps straw and what ever debri
I think one day some diver will come across where Ben McDaniels got stuck
I genuinely do not believe that Ben mcDaniels body is in there.

I know that he’s unlikely to be found but still expecting to see a body float by in this video

Ben McDaniels is the reason I asked. I firmly believe he faked his death or his body was removed by the man who gave him the key
The key was never given to Ben, the gate was unlocked for him by Eduardo

NOPE NOPE NOPE
Omg the music is SO cringe. Why would you ruin a perfectly good video like that?
Thanks for watching Mystical
How so? I think it's very fitting for a very tight, exploration cave dive.
Thank you @@underwaterworlds7290 , It was fun grinding through the 4th restriction.
