  • Many people think that heritage preservation is equal to anti-development. As one of the contributors in making Georgetown Penang World Heritage Site listing with UNESCO, she shared you why heritages should be conserved with Georgetown World Heritage Site (Penang, Malaysia) as an example.
Ms Lim Gaik Siang holds a top management position in an American top 500 engineering company. However, in Malaysia, she is better recognized as an enthusiastic promoter of cultural heritage and Chinese culture. Her involvement in heritage conservation was first started with her joining in the preparation of Georgetown World Heritage Site listing with UNESCO. Apart from that, she was appointed as conservation consultant by Penang Teochew Association to restore and conserve Han Jiang Ancestral Temple which was awarded the UNESCO Asia-Pacific Award for Culture Heritage Conservation in 2006. Her eloquence enabled her to deliver to audiences worldwide, including Shanghai Expo, and was appointed to deliver a speech on Sun Yat Sen to the Premier of China in 2011.
