Here are the knot names used in order: 1. Larks Head Knot (the beginning when all strings attaching to stick) 2. Square Knot (center piece) 3. Double Half Hitch (the diamond pattern in the center piece) 4. Half Knot Spiral (second step after the center piece) 5. Alternating Half Hitch (third step) 6. Double Half hitch and Square Knot (fourth step) 7. Larks Head Knot (tassels) With attaching of all the pieces together in the middle I improvised so I don't know those knot names. For anyone asking how long the fringe is at the end: 45 & 23cm...I had to read through SEVERAL comments (per Sasha) to find the answer to my original question. Hope this helps...
You make it look easy. I do have a background in macrame from the 70's. This is so refreshing to see it coming back. I am re-inspired to make these! Thanks for the easy to follow tutorial!
Thank you. Great tutorial. For American conversion I hope it's ok to leave this here so I can easily refer to it during the project: Wall hanging 17.5" x 14.6" Dowel 20.5" Ropes 4mm 14 @ 5' to 6.5' 6:@ 6.5' 4 @ 6.5' 10 @ 10' All totals have been rounded up for ease. Hi Sasha, I just wanted to let you know how much your tutorials have changed my life. Since Covid i have to re-invent myself to bring home the bacon! You have inspired me into trying to make macrame a business. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and skills. I hope to do the same one day. Teaching others is my dream come true. Keep the awesome work coming. Many thanks from down under.
I love your design. Thanks. What would be really helpful is a full list of all the lengths required are displayed at the beginning of the tutorial so you can prepare before starting. Also, can you please advise the finished length, using the cord lengths you use - I may want to make it longer.
Loved this tutorial, this was my first macrame and I found it pretty easy to follow! For those who wonder how long it can take, I made it in 7h30... It was long but totally worth it! Good luck :D

I've always wanted to learn how to macrame...and realized all of the knots are the same from when I made bracelets as a child many years ago and I had no idea! I know I'll need a lot of practice still, but I feel way more confident to try it out now!
Whew! Just finished this project, it took me 4 months!! I would work on it a bit, get frustrated, then leave it for a while. Finally finished it, and it turned out quite nice, but having never done macrame before, this was definitely not easy and I would not recommend for beginners. I watched so many parts over and over again to figure it out how to do the knots. I used 4mm x 100m as indicated in her comments, and just squeaked by (200cm/80" left). By the end, I feel like I now have a basic understanding of macrame, so I guess it was one way to learn some of the foundations. I might come back to some of her tutorials once I have more experience.
Currently using your tutorial right now! I'm loving it so far! I did find though I had to measure my cord longer than what you did, I'm using 3mm instead of 4mm. I'm excited to see how it turns out! Pics to come 😉
Sasha Macramessage Hermoso ! te consulto , las medidas de los hilos son ya dobladas al medio o debo cortar el doble ? espero tu respuesta , Gracias !!!!!
I slowed it down but hands were still in the way. That's why I don't like how-to video's that just play music. Going to find a different one with verbal instructions. This is really pretty though.
This is my very first one. At min. 14:25 one of the left ropes is only 4 cm, while yours look still so long!! How is it possible? The first 14 ropes should be 1.5 Mt long BEFORE or AFTER folding them into half?
Thank you so much for the tutorial! Im a bit confused and would love some help. Under the video you wrote you used 4mm cotton twine, but in the comments you wrote you used thin cotton twine 3 mm. Just tring to figure out by how much to increase the measurements. Thank you!!
Loved this. Just learned how to do macrame yesterday and I could very easily follow everything after giving the video a watch through once. The only tricky part was the 2nd layer being joined with the first one, it was a little tough to figure out what you had done, but I got it aftee watching a couple times. So beautiful
I don't understand. I love this hanging (and your other videos). I've now tried it twice and I keep running out of rope in the middle , even though I cut the lengths a little longer the second time around. What am I doing wrong???
