The mead was sparkling like the stars in the divine bowl
With sweet gold of honor and eternity of words.
He was the first of the Scalds, a fearless Viking
Who decided to taste from the Gods’ Bowl.
The time became slavish and the word became magic.
More sweet than the Odin’s mead and more fresh than the wind,
The Valkyries from the sky flew down to the earth
To pay honor to the fearless men with the scald.
Buðumk hilmir löð,
