to look at the facts.
We are not heading
to Germany in a good place, that is a fact.
We have key players
out with injury , key players out of form due to having been injured during last season with their clubs or simply not getting enough minutes with their clubs last season.
We dont have a vast player pool to call up on
so there for we do need all our top players available to give us even half a chance of making any kind of impact that is far from the case.
We have done very well to make it Germany this summer in the first place.
It's about being realistic, not optimistic, or pessimistic, but being realistic.

Switzerland - 0
Scotland- 1 Hungary - 0
That is realistic.
If we could find a
consistent goal scorer that would be half the problem solved.
Defensively, we are as good as we are going to be at this point in our football history.

Hanley isn't the type of centre back that can get match fit quickly , he has had a very serious injury & arguably shouldn't be in the squad never mind starting. I think Souttar is very unlucky but may also not be fit enough.
But neither should Soutter right enough, that’s the real issue, other than Tierney CH is a real problem position for us.

Hopefully these are just friendly results and nothing else, but I’m pretty concerned about our results over the past 6-8 months. We need to bring our qualifying form if we want to have any chance of progressing out the group. I feel like Hickey and Ferguson are two pretty massive losses though, as Hickey is the nailed on right back and Ferguson offers a good goal threat from midfield.

Feel for John Souttar but his sub performance in Amsterdam & his form & injury at the end of the season probably cost him. It should have been Cooper & Hanley who are both past their peak as well as a keeper that got punted , that would have left room for an extra much needed offensive player as even with Morgan in the squad still has too many centre backs.
I thought that was a great game for Scotland.

It was just a friendly and historically, we are crap at these ... Hanley has always been a liability and jack hasn't kicked a ball since December ... I've been predicting a 1-0 win against Germany for a while and we that we will qualify from this group .

He needs to have a plan b. Playing 3 cbs 4cms and 1 striker wouldn't be my choice. Trying to fit too many players in. National teams dont always have to have the best players in the team it needs the right balance and for me we don't have that. When it works uts great but we need a plan b as it won't work against every one.

We were miles on top playing well, going to score again, in no danger. We do our usual thing and make 6 changes after an hour and we get a draw. It happens every time in friendlies with us. If i could have got a signal at Hampden
