Excellent choice! Same exact thing happened with me, with the same reaction that you had after driving the 991.2 Turbo S. I test drove the 991.2 immediately after the 992 C4S so I can compare. Both had Bordeaux red/black interior. As soon as I got into the 991.2, the interior felt more solid, more sporty and luxurious, and more 911, and then there was the drive. I got out of the 991.2 with a big smile on my face and my heart in my throat. There was simply no comparison. Mine is a GT silver cab.
agree, 991.2 is peak 911 for me. i have a 991.1 and am personally happy with the NA engine and sound, but if i had the moola id be getting that 991.2 turbo s. you also have 3 body widths to the 991 range, and the turbo s having the fattest butt of them all.
Yeah I didn't test drive the 992 Turbo S they had in the showroom.. it was more than TWICE the price as the 991.2 Turbo S so I'm happy to have taken the previous guys depreciation LOL.
Agree, I have a 993 C4S which has the same body as the 993 turbo less the big wing and the 993 is the business! Mine is in Forrest Green as well which I love.
I’ve listened for near 20 minutes on your review comparing both Porsche’s and what the cars are renowned for is SPEED, ACCELERATION….??? Not a word ….?? The 911.2 turboS is on another planet compared to the other ….. 0 to 60 mph in 2.6 seconds…. Plus it had the high end Burmister sound system ….. first overview I’ve ever heard not experiencing THE POWER ….?
True, the cars are renowned for many things including speed and power. Personally I don’t get excited by speed & power when any old production electric car has almost as much or more. The top end speeds of these cars are not possible to unleash on New Zealand’s poor roads.
@@9and3 EV is full of BS… zero soul, but the sound of an accelerating turboS far out ways any soulless EV…. How anybody can compare the two baffles me although you have not in the presentation but have in your reply. NO real car enthusiast would ever do so…. The balance for me is Hybrid as in Ferrari 296 GTB or the new McLaren ARTURA …. THAT makes good sense…!
Driving a 296 today as it turns out and I reviewed when it launched so check that out. Keep away from my taycan turbo s review tho 😂 after this gt3 touring drive I got back in my 488 and was instantly reminded how insanely good the Ferraris are over the Porsches
My friend just picked up his new Targa 2024 and traded his 991 Targa. In comparison to his old Targa you can tell the build quality in. It the same in the new Targa. Also I have a 991.1 and I love the build quality of mine over the new 911’s.
Yeah it seems the VW accountants have been involved in the latest generation and at the same time someone at Porsche has been afraid of what the other brands are doing so there is a lot of copying other peoples homework (eg the pop out door handles taken from the Tesla model S ).

I think it might make a good daily but for driving excitement and presence and thrills id get in my ferrari 488 over any Porsche out there. There is a really good Ferrari vs Porsche video just released by JayEmm on cars is n this. Porsche is just too perfect. I guess people mod them to build in excitement and character 🤔
Agree, but even though the ages are very different the prices are now the same so a lot of people (like me) have a certain budget and have to make this kind of decision. I was very very fortunate that the Turbo S was pretty much as new because it had only done 8,000km and owned by an older gentleman who had a large collection and never pushed it hard. I've doubled those KM now and I'm very happy with it, and of course its held its value way better than the 4S would have.
It was hard to measure that with the busy traffic but after doing over 2000 km in the turbo s and after comparing it against a 991.2 GT3 Touring - the Turbo S is insanely quick. It’s the easy winner. But if you were paying new prices on any of these cars I’d take a second hand Ferrari 488 all day long because it’s pure excitement and speed.
The 18 way seats on the 991 are the most comfortable car seats I've ever sat in. Any 991 either .1 or .2 is a class car the Turbo S's are something else
The 991.2 is already visually much more valuable - I'm not sure whether the new generation has been given a cheaper paint job. In any case, the 992 looks like an Audi in terms of quality. But the 991 was different. It looks like it was cut from a stone.
I was in the same position, tried both 🤔 and got the Turbo S in white 😁👍 It’s brilliant, acceleration is phenomenal and as my brother, who has a tesla, said when I accelerated hard from 10mph, “f**k me!!!” 🫡

Awesome! Its amazing eh how one car can be so different.. I got into the GT3 after this and same thing again! (see video on that also)

IMO Somehow the 992 feels like you're getting in to a Lexus interior, I love the all around build of my 991.2.

Comparing a 4S without Sport Chrono, without Sport PASM and without PDCC to a nicely specced Turbo S is pretty hilarious.

Ha! Awesome. I do love my Tesla model 3 performance still for its crazy acceleration but this turbo S is so reassuring!
