    It's flats fishing time!
Flats are some of my favorite types of spots to catch inshore fish.
You can find redfish, trout, black drum, snook, and flounder on them, and they're easy to find on a map and on the water.
However, finding fish on the flats may not be as easy, especially if the flat is big.
I wasted a ton of time fishing in dead zones on a flat, without ever knowing that the fish were probably just a few dozen yards away.
But in this video, you're going to learn how to find fish on a flat, as well as how this strategy changes as the seasons change.
Have any questions about fishing the flats?
Let me know down in the comments!

I'd like to see a dissection of Christmas and Drum Bays, galveston Tx. I'd love to join the saltstrong club for these but don't have the money. Maybe some time I will.

(..for trout and redfish) I just purchased a Penn Pursuit 3000 combo, ML, using 20lb braid. Do you guys suggest I go up to a Medium/4000 reel, or stay with the 3000?

The 3000 ML is more than enough to deal with the redfish and trout you'll find on the flats. Also, it makes the fights that much more fun

I just bought the same real and went with 15 pound braid (first time i've ever used braid...ever); Haven't had a chance to fish with it yet but I paired it with a MH rod. Have you been out with the new reel yet?

@@mixgameplayer5617 I used it a few times...only caught a few small trout on it though. I ended up returning it for the Medium 4000 combo. I was nervous a red was gonna snap it in half..

What is a good bait caster rod that you would recommend under $100 or $50
