I feel like an upgrade that could also come in 2.1 would be the double class 80X trains as it seems we will soon get them added due to the recently added double 802 model in Farleigh TMD. It looks like the Devs want to add it sooner or later and I think 2.1 would make the perfect opportunity. I think maybe we may also see an upgrade of the Willowfield line as it would make sense as it is very boring and it's stations need a bit of a refresh.
222 is more likely to come to SCR than 390 because it is 5 and 7 cars and is actually very different looking from 220/221, and the ratio of First to Standard class is very unrealistic on 222 compared to 220 and 221 :)

I would be very surprised if the Class 390 was coming - the longer stop markers are presumably for the doubled-up 80xs (and maybe even a nine-coach variant of those...) As for the 222, even less chance. Starryloch's footbridge needs an upgrade simply to make it more realistic, but, apart from that, I don't think anything needs doing - it's a tiny, little-used station so can look a bit past-it! - and, as for Hemdon Park, it's my favourite station (architecturally speaking) and I think it looks really nice (a la Reading Green Park). Beechley does need a bit of a refresh, however.
I really hope the tramlink line comes out officially. It has station of its own(Robinson Way) and transferring stations like Greenslade and Whitney Green

His only reasoning of it being added was that SCR added the class 800 even though they already had the 801 and 802, but that was an exception because Rayleigh bay was diesel only and Stepford Express didn't have enough Diesel-hauled trains. You could say they could just give the 802 to express, but express and airlink already share the 397, so it probably would be disliked for them to share more trains.

I wish Express could be extended to Stepford Victoria or perhaps even Willowfield (if the platforms are long enough to accommodate), Victoria has I think at least 2 platforms that are long enough to accommodate at least 9 or 12 coaches? I could be wrong.

Imo I kinda don't want new trains or lines or anything like that. The Devs should Focus on Revamping Stations and Remeshing Trains now that the Standards have been raised SIGNIFICANTLY since the 385 came out. Case in point: The Desiros (except the 360) look Woefully Outdated. The game just needs some sprucing up more than anything, It's starting to become unpredictable where you can and cannot spawn with the amount of broken spawns going about.
New trains don't come in every major upgrade? Seems like this is just want you want not what could actually happen. Just because a station is old and outdated doesn't mean it's getting an upgrade anytime, Whitney Green is a pure example of that. So it's likely that 90% of these updates aren't happening in 2.1 looking at it from a realistic POV.
These are just possibilities. I’m in the making of part 2 and Whitney Green is mentioned. I do not want it to be upgraded because it reminds me of the OG SCR and it’s nostalgic, but there is a possibility that it could be upgraded. I don’t want the 222 to be added but I guess it could be a possibility and i’ve seen some people talking about it. I really want the 390 to be honest as it is my favourite train but it was a matter of time before it would come to the game anyway :D
