Brilliant again you make it look so easy, but mine we're hidden and was over 2hrs putting them on, have a brilliant weekend, I am settling off for home tonight
Another great video, well done. Although it did expose Mrs. CarSpy's excessive toothbrushes ownership as I noticed two different ones were available for use.
Hello sir. i am currently trying to change my gas struts for Nissan ak11. but i am not getting the same model. any ideas to how the fitting can be modified? perhaps adding some ball joints nuts so that we can use the gas struts for ak12, 13 models?
My new one won't go down (it stays extended). It says my car model on the packet. A decent brand. 'Left' strut installed on the left hand side. It wasn't over extended as I didn't move the post (holding the tailgate up). I don't want to force it. I've contacted the Ebay seller. For something so simple and possibly two weeks of postal rigmarole..
Thanks for the tutorial, I've tried replacing mine but they both pops out from the connector when I try to reopen the tailgate... Is that the size is not fit?
One of my struts doesn't fit as the clip is the wrong way around I have tried to twist it but it doesn't. It saying this is the right part. Not sure if it's a defective one. Any advise would be appreciated thanks
Excellent video, though I wished I had watched it before I changed the struts on my Ford Focus Mk2. On removing the RHS strut, the tailgate fell on my head, also trapping the faulty strut, which then smashed the RHS light cluster. Stop laughing at the back! Never underestimate the ability of folk to be really stupid LOL
What a pain. Still, such things happen. I recently snapped a bolt while installing a thermostat on the Corsa. I invented a lot of new swear words that day!
Excellent tutorial. this girl will do it herself! Part purchased for ages. Men are too busy at the moment.
Thank you, Katie. Good luck fixing your vehicle. Best wishes from CarSpyTV.

Thank you, Ian. If it's any consolation, it took me two hours to find the broom! Safe journey home.
Really interesting to see these struts replaced. Excellent vid. Thanks.
You're welcome, RDT.
Glad you got your tailgate struts sorted. Certainly dangerous if they fail. Good advice, thank you.
No worries. It's a nice, easy job.
The detailed close up is the best instruction I’ve seen so far for us who want to know how to remove the ball joint on gas struts 👍
Thank you. Glad the video helped. Best wishes from CarSpyTV.
Cheers, very helpful. With your help I changed my struts in under 5 mins. Great job
You're welcome. Glad the video helped. More to follow.

If it was my car, I'd avoid such complexities by getting the correct struts for a K11. They're easily available. Good luck.
Right, now I know how to change mine, which are totally shot....thanks
That's great. Glad the video helped.

Do you live in the car boot until you film your next video?! Just curious!! Hehe
Only at the weekend.
@@CarSpyTV good choice! Me too!
Love your hat is that from Australia
Thank you, Les. I bought it in the UK, but it's 'Australian style' according to the label.
Thanks for the tutorial, I've tried replacing mine but they both pops out from the connector when I try to reopen the tailgate... Is that the size is not fit?
Are you sure it's pushed on properly and the clips engaged?
@@CarSpyTV Yes but it’s loosening when I open and close the gate, I’ve tried using a piler to tighten it, but it doesn’t work 😵💫😵💫
Might be worth checking it's the correct part, i.e. cross reference the model number.
@@CarSpyTV ah right, I missed that part, thanks a lot!! I better find a garage in the future,, I’m so dumb on cars😂
No problem. Best wishes from CarSpyTV.

I had a strut that wouldn't twist once. It was just stiff. Have you tried twisting it with pliers? Good luck.
@@CarSpyTV I haven't I will give it a try. Twisting it on the plastic bit ?
If it was my car I'd put the pliers on the metal end of the strut, grip the middle of the strut with my hand, then gently twist the pliers.
Mine never goes all the way to the top, eneding up with me hitting my head on the boot regularly 🤦♀️
Oh dear! It might be worth replacing the struts. They're not typically too expensive.
