No such things a boring video ,With you and your dad it’s always entertaining and educational just love them Country file doesn’t show daily lif but with you guys we get to see the guts blood and tears keep the videos coming stay safe and remember it people like you you dad and family that keep this country going
Tom just remember every time you and your Dad do a video you're educating thousands of people around the world. Not many people get that honor in their lives. One day you will look back and you can show your own kids that Dad had his own TV show with Grandpa teaching people about farming. Have a great day Pembertons.
We don't need more exciting, just proper old ways farming. That's enough excitement to keep everyone happy. Love all your videos/vlogs what ever you youngers call them.
Hi Tom, tie a bit of string on the grate and the other end to a cork / float . Next time it floods, the cork / float, rises up with the water, and when ready you can pull the string, and the grate comes up, work smarter, not harder.
this time of year on the farm when it is cold and wet makes easy jobs so much harder. I had days where I couldn't feel my hands they were that cold but you just have to get on with it. big respect to you both. keep the videos coming and stay safe
This was a bloody good video Tom. A really good realistic representation of the shit winter jobs in the rain. I loved when you were cutting the straw string and your dad was in the background sighing. It reminded me of working with my old man.
Thank you Tom and The Ginger warrior for the videos. They don’t always have to be exciting, I just enjoy seeing and learning something different every day! Always a thumbs up before I even watch the video. 👍 Thanks!
I think it is great you are showing all aspects of farming and showing the people who don’t farm that it’s not all about big machinery and there is a lot of effort that goes into people’s food and you do a great job of representing our industry. Great video.
This is the highest complement I can pay...you and your Dad are incredibly intelligent and have such a respectful bond between you. Amongst learning things, I could watch you just to see you two and what’s right in the world.
That truly was a right soggy day for you and your father Tom, however I do hope that the highlands that you have are now much happier now that they have a place to be out of the weather.
Many times, completing the little jobs in life provides the most satisfaction. Fun video to watch. And let's admit it: we ALL wanted to see that water drain away! : )
Just an idea, before you put back that metal grid, make a thick wire Handel sort of a loop that will stay on it. Next time you’re looking to pull it out in freezing cold water, that little bit of a loop will give you something easier to get ahold of. Just a thought....👍❤️
Tom & Mr. P. Again proper farming. Doesn't matter what the weather or day, always work to be done. Plans for a roof will be welcome. Heroes! Stay Safe.
I really like you and your Dad. You two are extremely hard working Farmers. Whatever is there whether it be effluent, sh*t, Cattle or floods, you're there in amongst it. You're not playing Farmers you are Farmers. As I said, you two are in amongst it. You're a genuine family in all aspects (the Farm Shop) and I respect every one of you. Total Respect !! Down the generations you've got where you are by sheer hard work and because of that you own your Farm. I wish you all the very best for 2021. Thumbs up. 🌷👍👍👍👍❤👍👍👍👍🌷
Tom, any vid you put out is worth watching, informative and interesting because you show farming as it really is, warts and all. Nothing is covered up. Credit to you and the Ginger Warrior - the father and son dream team - says it all.
The honest truth about farming...up to your elbows in Sh....silo on a cold wet day. Keep it real, we love to see all the hard work you and the Ginger Warrior put into the farm. The covered area will make life so much easier (and cleaner), looking forward to seeing the farm develop over the coming years. Thanks for sharing, I know how much effort is involved and a big thumbs up to the Ginge for letting you show us...he is becoming a star in his own right 👍
tom please understand just SEEING what u do on farm that not everyone one will EVER see is Exciting even if its unblocking a drain or shovling cow poo its still exciting to watch most people would never see whats its like to be on a farm and this really intreages people to see. i my self have helped on farms when my pearents ust to send me and it was the best experience i have ever had just watching your videos are amazing keep it up even if its slow or u think its boring i could sit here and watch 1hour gopro footage all day long
But it is interesting! While winter is dreary, cold, and wet, it's still great. The time to take care of the animals, not have to worry about crops, and plan for the spring while the land rests and the aquifer recharges.
Hi Tom, just a thought! We had a similar grate blocking up regularly! We put a loop of wire through the grate and this allowed us to get rid of the blockages with out getting an armpit full of slurry and effluent.
Actually good to see what other dairy farms are doing daily basis. Also just a tip from me is to have a short and sharp knife blade when cutting netting/plastic from bales, mine is a old Morakniv with about 5 cm blade, sharp enough to cut bale netting and plastic without sawing motion.
I Lived in the north west for over 50 years working on motorways M55 M6 all in construction. I live in 🌞 cyprus now definitely don’t miss the January weather. love your videos 🐂🚜🥛🥶
This vid may not have been the most intresting as Tom said, but its so good to get a true picture of a farmers life, sucess or struggles, and we can support you with our likes & subs. We all need to support small business during these horrible times. 🐄🐄😷😷
It was super content Tom!! If people need excitement lock them in a pen with a bull Period! We love y’all for who you are and making content. Not a circus routine. Thanks for being you and thank the happy ginger guy with a red moostache!! We love all of y’all from across the pond called North Carolina 🎣🎣🎣fish on!!!
Tom and Ginger, great video again what you might think is mundane, it shows that maintenance on a farm doesn't stop at good weather but continue through bad weather also and how difficult it is. thank you once again. Being a farmer is never easy.
That is a good vid and very interesting! We who are watching are sitting nice and try and we kind of enjoy in a weird way watching you and Ginge muck around in wet and cold. It is kind of comforting....and we feel for you...really Bring'em on; we like real life and thanks, Tom!
Someone stole that big yellow ball from the sky. I remember years when we had plenty of sunshine and no rain. Every drop we and our few cows drank we hauled in from deep springs, praying the water didn't dry up. Yer a good man Charlie Brown.
It might not be 'exciting' to you Tom, but we find it interesting and entertaining. Keep doing, what you are doing. Looking forward to all the new ideas & plans you have for this year. We will all be along for the ride 👍👏
Good to see routine jobs every now and then. They make the world go round. Fingers crossed for you getting all the roofing you need on the yard at some point in the future.
Tom, don't play things down, that's life, or your life, and that is what you are good at showing, warts and all, I think some people would run a mile if asked to your job.
I raise cattle and I just hate the mud season in north central Iowa. Your mud season appears to be all year. Don't know if I could do it! I enjoy the videos.
What your dealing with is very much like what we have here in Western Washington State, USA, ( the Seattle/Tacoma side of Washington State USA. When I was a kid, I worked on a dairy that had this very same issue with all the rain water, and it was my job to pump out the POO Pit, and take it out on the fields. There where some times that it rained so hard, that I just could not keep up. So had to just turn on pump and let it run down the hill and into the creek at bottom of hill. That was about 47 years ago now. And after all those years it never caused any problems. Take Care!!
Its true Tom if you are the son you get the worst jobs. But you did it well Tom and got the water running away. Look forward to your new realise of your merch.
tom ref: drain problem, tie length of bailer twine to drain grid other end of twine to float, problem sorted, when blocked lift sleeper flot pops up pull on twine to lift drain grid
From Canada. People tend to idealize the farm life and need to see the day to day, season to season, mundane mucky bits when nature gets too generous. Sometimes pushing water around is like hearing cats.
Great video. Clean water/Dirty water - Explains a lot. Few solar panels while you're up there? Long term investment, yes, but good for the environment.
Tie a couple of bits of rope or as you are farmers baler twine through the grid with loops on so that you can just search around in the water for the loop ends to make it easier to jiggle the grid out next time Tom
You should call drain addict, and ratty. Have that line jetted to clear it all out. A retractable roof and water system sounds good. Nice video. Love seeing a drain video on a farm channel. 🙂
Always the youngest gets the dirty job Tom, its what makes you learn how to do it when on your own. Perhaps a grid instead of those sleepers may make it easier to keep clean as most of the rubbish will be kept out of the drain.
your routine is interesting to those of us with different routines. I run a metal injection mold shop and my normal is so very different, and i look forward to every tuesday & Friday and the odd occasional sunday video.... Love yo shizz homie
Would you invest in a skid steer? We have one we use it for the scraping and feeding and other jobs, very handy as it is small but mighty with the horsepower
Just going to have dinner all by my self, thinking that YT is a bit of company and what do you know 😄 Tom Pemberton have posted a new video 😊 ... 🤢 ... see you later TP 🤣
Oooh! I would put an arm length glove on to do that. A relation of mine contracted Weils disease which progressed to Giuarme Willie syndrome which he was lucky to recover from.
Tom, the crappy jobs are all part of farming life. Not all sunshine and shiney new gear.😎 Still though this will push you both on to make the new farm plan work💪💪
It's ok to have a video of the mucky jobs....I rather like them and this was a good 'un!! Our weather here (Seattle, USA) in winter is soggy and mucky and I feel right at home watching you guys mucking around too!! LOL!
This city girl was wondering why there were so many tires hanging around iin this video.....now I know. Thanks for the dirty side of taking care of all the cow business. I can smell the manure from here! I used to hang out on a small old school family farm. Lov your videos.

Thats a great point of view.
Then he can laugh and tell them to deal with the muck!!
That's right, he has proof the Dad did this stuff and they can too and they never have to punch a clock. That is the best part to me anyway.
We don't need more exciting, just proper old ways farming. That's enough excitement to keep everyone happy. Love all your videos/vlogs what ever you youngers call them.

Great idea Harry 👏
as a plumber who was apprenticed to his dad I feel your pain!!
😂
You are just showing everyone what is needed to bring food to our tables! Thank you for this.
Tom, you are the hardest working, toughest young man I have ever seen! Once again, you restore my confidence in today’s youth!!
Thanks Janet 😊

Maybe it wasn't an exciting video, but it was still interesting and honest with nothing hidden. Respect. 👍
☺️ Thankyou
I was going to say much the same thing. Some times the quiet "boring" videos and bay far more entertaining.
Hail, rain or shine, a farmers work is never done. Well that's what my dad used to tell me anyway. 👍
