Glenn sounds great at 66. Daryl is 77 while bringing this show back. 77! This is year is proving to be the year in which old musicians reject the adjective "old" altogether.
Squeeze was one of those bands that was like a locomotive coming straight at you in concert, hit after hit, riff by riff and a certain muse to the lyrics that has never been replicated. No matter if it was Jules Holland, Carrack or any members rotating in, Difford and Tilbrook, imo, will always be one of the great duos in music history. Wish they played Cool for Cats or Annie Get your Gun, but this could have been an hour longer and the cupboard still wouldn’t be bare.
Agreed! I was fortunate to see them recently on a double-bill with the Psychedelic Furs. Brilliant show! They'd definitely have to have Difford in there for "Cool for Cats" though.
This series is seriously one of my favorite things in life. So great to see it back and with two of my favorite artists! Hats off to the incredible supporting musicians as always!
Glenn still sounds amazing.... Always thought Squeeze was totally underrated....Loooooved them in college- my total fave band. Great music + lyrics and so fun to hear Daryl harmonize!!! This is such a treat to see this--- Live from Daryl´s House is beyond fabulous....his band is stellar. PERIOD. THANK-YOU!!!
@TheTom7878 If you didn’t know Daryl Hall done backing vocals on a Paul Carrack album : Groove Approved 1989 . Plus T T woke done some work on it to . I’ve saw Paul many times as one third of Mick & the mechanics
I am soo excited to see Daryl is back in his house! What an exceptional musician he is and his band are , as always, superb . What a great performance with Glenn at Daryl’s House. Looking forward to more please!
Really enjoyed hearing Glenn sing this one. I’m used to hearing him sing a line or two on the original recording during the ‘band verse.’ He’s apparently been singing the whole song in most concerts for 40+ years and his take on it is wonderful
I saw Squeeze open up for Elvis Costello and the Attractions at The Warehouse in New Orleans in 1980. Perhaps one of the best shows I've ever seen. The Warehouse was literally an old warehouse that had a capacity of perhaps 3,500.
Oh sweet heaven. I needed this something awful. I’m ecstatic to see Daryl’s back. This does my heart good. Please keep the music & entertainment coming!❤️
So great to see you back, Daryl! Glenn Tillbrook sounds great! It would be amazing to see you have Ed Sheeran on your show - that would be an amazing collaboration!
I was thrilled to see LFDH is back, but even happier to see it was Glenn with Daryl! This is one of my favorite songs, but everything works. These are two of the great voices and both sound as good as ever! With the always stellar band. And chatting over dinner again. My soul is satisfied. Thank you, Daryl!💜🎉
Glenn Tilbrook is up there with THE best singer songwriters on the planet. Also, he is the man, after staring 'open mouthed' watching his exquisite guitar playing at a 1982 Squeeze gig, that I bought my first guitar. I now play just for fun, but am accomplished, so I am told. What a bloke Glenn is? A true rock star, and a really nice bloke. Rare, that them two worlds collide.
Tilbrook is one he||uva talent. He's a great composer, a unique singer, and also criminally underrated as a guitarist. His songwriting partner, Chris Difford, might be the sharpest lyricist this side of of Becker and Fagen.
Currently in my element - the idea of people who are not aware of Glen Tilbrook in the UIS if they missed the US tour, is brilliant as he is a UK gem (especially south east London). Two of my favourites singing their songs - excellent.
This song holds the record for most unique chords in a song I've played. I did Glenn's acoustic version and there are TWENTY-SEVEN unique chords. Daryl was right on in the other video where he said that Glenn's songs were "intricate".
Who would have thought the blending of Glenn and Daryl's voices would be so sweet? Such a great song and the band nailed it, BVs were amazing, the organ, right on. Nicely done gents.
Morrocan food is so sensual and I am low carb as well so I am going to try it.Daryl be a sweet love and give us the recipe. Don’t tease us with that beautiful food with no recipe. So happy live at Daryls house is back. Thank you.🎼🎹
Glenn still sounds on top of his game. I saw him solo last year and Squeeze this year. Seen them about four times at least and Glenn/Chris and company always deliver magnificently.
What an excellent version. Squeeze were such a quintessentially "English" band yet this song could be set almost anywhere. Silvertown Way by Mark Knopfler with Chris Difford and Glen Tilbrook on backing vocals is also really worth a listen.
Glenn Tilbrook - a fantastic guitarist, singer and write - Squeeze are one of my favourite bands - the album this is from “Sweets From A Stranger’ is a particular fave of mine!
Great to see Glen Tilbrook on your show, I 1st saw Squeeze 46 years ago in Salford near Manchester, England they were bottom of the bill supporting Eddie and the Hot Rods & I've liked them ever since
Go on Glenn I heard those sweet pipes live at Roundhay Park Leeds That unique voice and the songs summed up an era in England I was a local news reporter so I got in the press tent but no sign of this genius❤
Saw Glenn at the mechanics Burnley live a few years ago what a performer, when the interval came and everyone went to the bar in comes Glenn and had us all singing tempted with the fans split into two halves doing the oo oos and the ah ahs, what a super trouper great night, thank you for the music Glenn.
I love LFDH been watching for many years. I have seen Hall and Oates and they were excellent. I love Daryl singing both his songs and his guests' songs. I have seen people on this show that I had never heard before and I love that about LFDH because I just love music. Can't wait to see future shows!
Immediately realized the T-Bone picture on the wall. So sad, he left too soon, so great, that you know what friendship means in this sometimes crazy business.. Music is stronger than life and death! Go for it. Amazing what you do. The real thing!
Glenn and squeeze are one of my favourite singers / groups of all time. Last time I saw Glenn he was fleeting from his motor home parked on Byres rd Glasgow, before playing the Oran Mor , what a place for a concert / sing song.
Glenn sounds great at 66. Daryl is 77 while bringing this show back. 77! This is year is proving to be the year in which old musicians reject the adjective "old" altogether.
Glenn's voice sounds amazing. He's a brilliant writer of melodies and very underrated guitarist.
Cant argue with that, I was truly amazed hes still that good!!!!
His voice has hardly aged
I've never seen Daryl sing so little on this show. Says something about Mr. Tillbrook. Freaking great tune.
Daryl's band just blows my mind. They are truly GREAT musicians. I'm blown away every time!
Hats off to the sound Engineer what a great sound
Two notes...Brian Dunne is such a fun drummer to watch...and...Jesus H. Christ...Daryl Hall is 77 years old...and is still frickin' awesome!

"Jools"
Their greatest hits album is awesome.
spot on there Mark.

Eons better than anything from H&O, in my opinion
Glenn is such an amazing singer-songwriter. Squeeze is legendary. Great to see him featured. ❤
Tillbrook's voice is instantly recognizable and soothing; like a honey/lemon lozenge but for the ears.
"Tempted" is definitely a candidate for the top pop song of the 80s!
Glenn still sounds like he did 40 years ago. Great voice and great song.
Glen Tilbrook and Chris Difford two of the greatest writers of modern music era. Right up there with the Beatles ❤
🤦♂️… ffs … I like Chris and Glenn’s songs too man .. but .. really ? Chill dude your in danger of making a damn fool of yourself
👍🏴

Lamb tagine was what I ordered for dinner my first time at Daryl's House...it was awesome!
Would love to see Paul Carrack on an episode. Still, this is really good stuff.
Was about to say the same thing
Saw Paul Carrack in concert over 30 years ago in Chicago at Park West. Awesome show.
@@SLAYERSWINE1 Park West is an awesome venue. Wish I saw that show
@@freddystone7584 My favorite concert venue in Chicago. Saw Jeff Beck there 3rd row center in 2009. I live in Washington now. I miss that place.

Love when Porter does the low vocal (which I think is Elvis C. on the original) and Glenn gives him a smile.
I am soo excited to see Daryl is back in his house! What an exceptional musician he is and his band are , as always, superb . What a great performance with Glenn at Daryl’s House. Looking forward to more please!

Absolutely Brilliant . ❤. Joe Jackson would be another great guest .
Yes!!!
Tempted is one of my favourite Squeeze songs. Great version.
Its my all time favorite song.
Squeeze and Daryl and the band seriously good
Saw Squeeze on tour Sept 2023. Great show! They still got it.
I saw Squeeze open up for Elvis Costello and the Attractions at The Warehouse in New Orleans in 1980. Perhaps one of the best shows I've ever seen. The Warehouse was literally an old warehouse that had a capacity of perhaps 3,500.
Glenn’s voice has improved with age unlike lots of contemporaries.. guys got a voice of an angel
👍🏴
Man you guys rock! Great song. Glenn Tilbrook wrote some amazing songs!
What a delight to see this group of masters back in full flight. A special shout out to the drummer, he is a monster! What a pocket1
Oh sweet heaven. I needed this something awful. I’m ecstatic to see Daryl’s back. This does my heart good. Please keep the music & entertainment coming!❤️
I saw Squeeze live in 1980 and was surprised at what a great, fluent guitarist Glenn was.
His singing still sounds pretty good.
Seen squeeze live a couple of days ago at the Glasgow Bandstand. They were FANTASTIC.
BC and AC - Perfect!
What an outstanding groove! The Masters of their craft in full bloom, layin’ it down. Nothing sweeter. Thank you, Gentlemen.
One of the Best songs of the 80's
Of all time!
So great to see you back, Daryl! Glenn Tillbrook sounds great! It would be amazing to see you have Ed Sheeran on your show - that would be an amazing collaboration!

I have missed Daryl’s House. So great to see you! Love these sessions ❤
Glenn is just amazing and his song writing partner (Chris Difford) is a lyrical genius...
Glenn T is a true treasure. What a songbook.
One of the best songwriting teams around!

One of the best songs ever. Love Glenn and Daryl.
If it's true that Daryl's show is back, then I just got the best birthday gift EVER!
Squeeze and Daryl! Took me right to my younger self. All smiles and goose bumps.

Squeeze is the soundteack of my 20s....THANK YOU!!!! AWESOME ❤❤❤
Awesome to have your back Daryl!! You and Glenn sound fantastic!!
OMG these guy's just keep getting better, like a fine wine! What a band!
As a teenager growing up in London in the late 70s I had a huge crush on Glenn Tilbrook 💛
Blue eyed soul. Fantastic and tight. Welcome back Daryl and Co.
Love this song. Saw Tillbrook in concert once, and he was amazing. A super-talented guy.
Whoops: Spelled his name wrong! Tilbrook, with one L!
One of the truly great lyricists. An acoustic storyteller.
Squeeze lyrics are written by Chris Difford. Glenn is responsible for the music 🙂
@@markeng1mind boggled huh?

I love these cooking sessions with the episodes.
Love the song Tempted.
Always great and my favorite from my 80’s college days

I hear you. The chord changes that lead to the chorus are awesome.
These guys...their voices do not age! Outstanding.

I’m a huge Daryl Hall fan from the Hall & Oates days, so inspiring that Daryl is incredibly passionate and shares his music passion !
Thanks Daryl for bringing this great show back
YAY.... Glenn Tilbrook!!! Just saw him and Chris in Chicago for about the 500th time for the freshly Squeezed Music.

Just about hitting those high notes. So many classics.
Happy to see Daryls house back! Glenn is amazing! Big big Squeeze fan back in the day! Glenn still sounds like those old days! Love it!
Thank you for letting this happen again ❤I’m watching this from Japan.
Great version of Tempted
Definitive version is with Paul Carrack on vocals, but this is still put a big smile on my face, one of the best songs of the 1980s.
???? Glenn sings verses on the original too.
Still has the unique voice
Yes, a great way to kick off this season. I love the lyrics and the fact this is a low key R&B ballad.
Great to see Glen Tilbrook on your show, I 1st saw Squeeze 46 years ago in Salford near Manchester, England they were bottom of the bill supporting Eddie and the Hot Rods & I've liked them ever since
“Up The Junction” is one of the greatest songs ever written. 🤘
Go on Glenn

As finely crafted as a song can get.....
Woulfd of been so cool to have had Gary Wright at Daryl's studio before he passed on !!
This is wonderful. But it makes me think about who I'd love to see play with Daryl - Neil Finn of Crowded House. That would be fun....
SO SO SO happy to see LFDH & his wonderful band back again. All y'all look & sound great. Diane Birch again, pls....❤
Crazy fabulous. I love how everyone in Daryls house embrace's Glens music. Amazing how the voices compliment each other.
