For sword, I would probably pick health first. The reason is to prolong your survivability and deal more counter damage in the process. With the new equips being heavily health focused, I think it may benefit even more.
Because we can only choose one branch at a time, and for other streams I only need the health, attack and defence so it doesn’t really matter which one I pick. Choosing red or orange is an option if there’s a nice talent you want to aim for in the particular branches

As a Swordsman wouldn't it be best to invest into the Red Talent i've been playing as a Tank.
Early on, investing in base stats and counter might be the best move. Until you can afford the further out talents
