  • During a auto-land in 25mph winds it falsely thought it was on the ground due to turbulence and dropped about 10 feet. A downward facing screw puncture the battery.

Careful of the pH of your pool after this. All the lithium hydroxide from the lithium reacting with water will turn the pool quite basic

Water is a good choice. It contains the fire from setting other flammable objects on fire. Damaging the pool water is better than having the house on fire.

Lithium reacts extremely with water... if that battery was lithium and opened up even more it would have literally blown his pool up LOL

After that toxic pool. But this not plan must act fast.

Interesting, I didn't notice a change, maybe 30,000 gallons doesn't show the change. I wish I paid more attention in chemistry, thanks.

100 years ago the movie theaters had fires where the photographic film can burn hot and rapidly underwater (Eg. if it jams in the projector with a hot lamp on). Water doesn't put out a nitrate film fire. Today the danger is rechargeable lipo batteries that burn rapidly underwater. The more things change, the more they stay the same.

Yes the batteries are very dangerous, would you want to be on an airplane with a belly full of those.

I'm sure you could salvage good cells after pool. That helped other cells to not burn :)
