It’s absolutely incredible to me we live in a era where we not only get to hear these guys stories, but we have the opportunity to ask them questions… It’s just amazing. 10/10 Team House. 💯💯🇺🇸🇺🇸
While many go through life without ever encountering absolute heroes, some of us have had the pleasure of knowing the gods that walk among men. Wade was, is, and always will be a true warrior that made many men and women who they are today. It is an honor to call him a friend.
What a warrior! Thankful for men like this to serve our country!!
Thank you Wade, Jack and Dave!! This was one of the most humble, understated, and impactful conversations yet! This one is bookmarked on the other side of Dave’s conversation with Uriah Popp. So much inspiration for service and commitment comes through. Y’all are a serious bulwark to the erosion of the American Spirit. Thank you for your continued service to us all.
Wow what an interview.
This isn’t a guy that’s in the know he is the know. How satisfying!!
Incredible patriot! God bless you and thank you for your service 🫡🇺🇸✝️
One of the most profound interviews The Team House has ever had, thank you sir for your service to this country!
I can only hope that my memory is as sharp as wades once if I get to that age. Dudes on point in his 70s.
What a fantastic, humble American.
General Takemoto was my elementary school principal. My dad was in ROTC at the University of Hawaii because they paid a little stipend. Due to the Korean War he didn’t even graduate but they commissioned him and sent him off to war. Men like Takemoto, Ishimoto, my dad and his buddies are all very accomplished but humble gentlemen.
Man, Asians in The Unit such a rare occasion. Makes me prouder to be an Asian and I wish I could be like him someday 👏
Go back to where y’all from
Damn, SHARP dude! I can’t even tell you what I did today and this man is talking about 50, 60 years ago
This man is a GD LEGEND. This interview barely scratches the surface, but that’s not the fault of interviewers; only so much you can cover in a 90 minute podcast. Not everyone who appears on this podcast is always legit, but this man is the real deal and then some; a true humble professional, and a GD hero.
@@patrickjames4882 who has appeared on this podcast that is not "legit"? We take the vetting aspect pretty seriously.
@@TheTeamHousePodcast
Whoops he must not have understood that it’s YOUR show and y’all take cander very seriously.
Fantastic! You are building an important archive guys.
Amazing interview with a very honorable man. Thanks for posting this!
83 (+/-) with a memory like a steel trap and a remarkably articulate, orderly and organized mind. The real thing. May we all be so lucky.
Can’t wait to read the book. This is invaluable to have an old school intel guy on the show. Awesome work guys.
Somebody mentioned Eric Haney previously, that would be another good interview. Haney’s book (and Beckwith’s) really set the stage for young men who wanted more info beyond Vietnam and read about SOG/LRRPs, pre-internet days.
Fascinating episode. Thanks!
My CSM in Panama Op. Just Cause was a plank owner too…Eric L.Haney. Best CSM I ever had.
Much respect to this warrior.
Could teach a certain retired Navy Intelligence Senior Chief a lot about being a professional.
Who?
Wow! What a very interesting man. Thank you for everything .
Amazing American. Makes me so proud.
I found out about Wade when I read Charlie Beckwith’s book. I was so proud that someone from Hawaii was involved with forming Delta. I’m glad he finally wrote a book. Is there a way that I can get a signed copy?
What a gorgeous accomplished special services operator. It’s just like listening to Michio Kaku! 🥰🥰🥰
Another Outstanding Guest. Would have loved to hear an hour on Waco.. maybe next time.
Great guy, True Warrior
Legend!🇺🇸🫡
HIghly valuable insights. Much worth studing this interview.
Excellent interview. I wish he had touched on this elevation from MSG to CPT during Delta's formation.
This was a Cold War thing where senior NCOs would hold reserve commissions. They didn’t serve in the officer rank unless there was a war. I haven’t heard of this happening since the 80s.
@@timscherrer9924 I still had one of these guys in my unit in the mid 90s, but they were mostly gone by 2000, and eliminated by Army policy officially after that.
When I came on active duty in the late 80's there were still decent number of senior NCO's who had been officers in Vietnam. They kept their reserve commissions and retired at the commissioned rank. My division CSM was a USAR LTC, and I heard that one of the other CSMs in the division was an O6.
WTF!!!! Been waiting to hear from these legends!!!
Great episode with a great American
SGM Eric Haney was an original member of Delta and would have gone on that Laos rescue mission. I remember in his book "Inside Delta Force" that he stated there were POW's left behind and he was pissed the rescue mission was scrubbed. I wonder if he still believes there were POW's there. I'm glad you pressed Wade about this potential mission. He made his opinion clear.
Jack, Robert Garwood was the collaborator that stayed in Vietnam until 1979.
A legend !
There is a chunk of the interview missing.
Get an Eric Haney on. I bet he would be great! Ive been looking forward to this guy as well
Haney would be amazing!!
Get Snake Doc, Betty Blue, Cool Breeze, Dirt Diver, Hammerhead, the whole team in via video to say hi.
I meet a Scot from the SAS that Helped set up Delta , again I give Delta 25 M-21 Series and 3 Silenders
Jack, we need signed books for Xmas gifts 🎁!
Great patriot.
I remember reading about him in 'the guts to try' with the Iranian embassy hostage mission.
The original Tier 1 dudes were the trackers in Vietnam.
DANG IT! I missed it! 😩
Plankowner, not plank holder…ask a sailor.
Audio is in and out
I was in Germany when the Hostages were taken in 3rd. I.D.
👍
❤
666th like. HUA. Sincerely, a family member of Team Member Buck.
He sounds bitter
🫡
Ask wade if he had to go do selection like mike did.
Delta is the army, I believe the terms: plank owner, plank-owner, plank holder strictly refers to either the Navy or Coastguard.
Good idea fairy applies to all branches…
@@billryan2807 yes
Do they have a copyright on it?
It's a general term, that may very well have originated with ships, but the intent of it can be universal.
Stop gatekeeping and looking for things to be outraged about.
Great interview with an amazing patriot. Pouring drinks, unwrapping, lighting cigars and playing on the computer is distracting and rude during an interview like this. At least make it look like you're interested in participating in the interview.
Didn't know the term 'plankholder' was also an Army term. If Wade was born around 1941, that means he went through selection at or around 36-37 years old. What a beast!!!
Oh Yeah This Will Be a Crowd Pleaser!
a legend👍👍👍
