Altered Beast Low% No Orbs

I established a new speedrun category for this game where you go through the full game without touching a single orb in less than 21 minutes. "Power Up" does not exist in this run.

That was a joy to watch, thanks for this mister ZeeGee. I'm trying to beat the PC Engine port and finding it very very challenging, only got to level 3 (2 days playing, 3 hours each day). Did you beat that port too or plan to do any attempts with no power ups? Maybe it's impossible on that version?

Just wanted to comment that just now I was playing this game on the genesis with a 6 buttons controller, and somehow triggered a glitch where I skipped the end cutscene where the head steals your power. Not sure what I did, I was spamming the entire controller trying to get back to where I had lost. I think it was on stage 2 or 3 (probably 3). On another run, I had a glitch happen on stage 3 where the end cutscene didn't play, and got softlocked with the character on screen and the music going on.

you're not the first to discover it i would like to know myself how to properly activate that glitch so a new world record can be established.

So how come does the boss run away the first two times in each level when you're not all powered up even?

Each level is made up of 3 sections and boss will only fully transform when you are in beast mode. Even if you did get a power up you're still human so the boss doesn't see you as a threat yet
