We (mostly) agree again on the SL2. I disagree that the B12 is a max cushion shoe. It is still a tempo shoe, but is now eclipsed by the SL2 and the TS10 combo for all but a dedicated long run training in a marathon build if you are racing in the Evo 1. Otherwise...we are on the same page for this shoe... what a world! 🤙🏻

I decided to try the SL2-in part because of your comparison to the Puma V3, which I love. Looking forward to taking it out to the track and using for some speed workouts. I’ve preferred to steer clear of plated shoes for daily use. This combo will help me pick up the speed in my week with a light shoe for faster days. Thanks, Mike. Your format’s super helpful!
Really love the 5 shoes rotations systems suggested, Mike. 5 shoes rotation is the sweet spot & cover everything. More than that, is just excessive. Unless throw a trail shoes in there, that might be acceptable. Truly appreciate it. Keep it up! Keep ‘em coming in the future!
Ppl must remember... Your weight will have a significant impact on your experience. Kofuzi is a light weight runner. Keep that in mind. The B12 might be a max cushion shoe based on his preferences. It makes sense that he prefers the Takumi for anything at faster paces and finds the B12 cumbersome for slower speeds and would prefer the SL2.

I really enjoyed the SL2. It truly is super light on feet. Straight out of the box it has been super fun and snappy. The bounce really gets you going. One of the best features I noticed is the shape of the shoe really enables and promotes strengthening of the big toe specifically. I really like the triple density midsole. I've done a few runs in the SL 2 but don't find it firm. I think like most adizero shoes with lightstrike pro it will soften more over time. Also find it runs a bit short compared to other models in adizero line up. Wish I had half size, maybe even full size up.
I know a lot of people enjoy it for that. I like it for easy miles and maybe a bit faster than easy. but once I got to mile repeat territory, it made me want to be in Takumi Sen
Boston 12 is definitely not what I'd call max cushioned. First pair of running shoes I had were the Gel Nimbus 24, those are what I'd call max cushioned. In comparison the Boston 12 is very very firm. The direction they're going in, having more lightstrike pro, makes me excited to see what they do with the Boston 13, the 12 has been great for me, especially given the price I can get them at here in China. Thinking of grabbing a 3rd pair now as I can get them for $93 USD. Have you considered doing reviews of running shoes where you're unaware of the price? I suspect that if you were able to get these shoes for quite a bit cheaper it'd affect how you rate them, equally if they're more expensive it'll affect your rating of them.
The Adios has taken a lot of weird turns since the start of the Carbon Plate Era. it used to be Adidas' marathon racer, but now it seems to be a budget Takumi. I've heard of some people using it as a low and lightweight daily trainer, but I think the Adizero SL2 would be better suited for that. I think the shoe that the Adios currently most reminds me of is the Puma Liberate and maaaybe the Saucony Sinister
Thank you so much! Completely agree it's a bit awkward in the line line up. Still loved my Adios 6 but unfortunately have gone through all 4 pairs and 8 is so so. Looks like time to give the Takumi Sen 10 a go. 😊❤
!!Por culpa de haber tantas Adizero, las quiero todasss y me está costando...excelente review Kofuzi !! Empezaré comprando la Adios pro 3 por 150 €...!!
How is this shoe for a beginner runner that seeking a do it all shoe? Im leaning towards this or novablast 4, this is better for its versatility but NB4 is definitely softer and more protective
I currently use the New Balance 1080 v13 for my long runs and recovery/ easy runs. I am using the SL2 for tempo work and will use them for an up-and-coming 10k race. I am only at sub 50 10K level at the moment. How would you rate the SL2 for 10k race use for someone at my level? I'll get into carbon in the coming months, but this should suffice for now. How much of difference would carbon make for someone like me?
Hi! Great comparison video as always. I am a heavy runner (~190) and I use Adizero SL for daily training and NB4 for a bit of speedwork. I'm planning to retire my SL1 and am thinking of getting the SL2. Is SL2 a good pairing for NB4? Or should I consider other options? Thank you.
Hi Kofuzi, great video, thanks. So besides the weight, what shoe would you prefer as your daily trainer for putting in the miles up to 35 km? The Sl2 or the Puma Velocity Nitro 3? Why?
Really helpful video. I’m on my 4th pair of SLs and am going to grab a pair of SL2s soon. I was thinking about waiting for Boston 13s but will probably just stick with the SL line and race in the Adios Pro. What are the socks that you are running in? There’s a white pair and a black pair
Great review. My only question is, how does it compare to the Adios 8? I found the Adios 6 very versatile so I’m wondering if the Adios 8 is a premium version of the SL 2 or is it more of a dedicated race/performance shoe.
i like the running in the SL2. BUT it scratched my toe next to my pinkie so my whole shoe was full of blood, its just the left side, i guess kinda a bad toeposition, is there any other adidas shoe, which maybe has a strechy upper? cause in my novablast and any other shoes i got, i didnt know i had a bad toe for shoes lol? dont know if its an Adidas Problem, and i have to try nikes and pumas or stick to Asics
I love the ride of the SL2. But the upper is much tighter than the Boston 12 or AP3. It also rubbed my middle toe and had terrible ankle rub which I never get in any other shoes of the same size. Tore my ankle so badly took the skin right off after 50KM in them. Heel lock can be a problem in these.
orale guey finnally !! Dude you forgot the adios 8. that shoe is better at track or fast workouts, and is way more stable due to lower stack, and has continental rubber. can't go wrong going all adizero rotation now.
Hey Ko, great video as always, i was waiting for this review as alwayas!! I have a question regarding the SL2, if you would compare it to the novablast 3, which one would be more stable? Novablast 3 midsole was so soft for me and it was messing with running form and I had to change them right away because it was causing issues with my calf’s since the rome was going inwards, only shoe i had this issue with and it seems that the SL2 might do the same, Thanks in advance!
based on what you're saying, I'd say the SL2 will be the better option for you. it doesn't have as wide of a heel as the novablast, but it's a firmer material
I don't know guys , how you can feel all that things on shoes ? :D bounce energy return end so on . Maybe I am different , but I can feel only weight , if its fit or not , and if ist soft or stiff :D my average run pace is 5:00min/km . I just saw this review on SL2 , bought them , and it is my second pair for my first shoe rotation , and SL2 in first try on was like brick for walk , but when I run 4:20pace they are good, to compare my z2 shoes NB 1080 v13.
Hello Kofuzi, Is the Hoka mach 6 and SL2 comparable ? Which would you pick ?
6 месяцев назад
Thanks for this one! I am somewhat eager to invest in those, but I truly do not like the colorway nor the colorways in the offer. On the other hand the colorway of the original SL was a blast! But I don’t know, the Supernova is tempting as well, hiding the secrets of previously unbeknownst, wanting the daily trainer that could go long. Any news on the Boston 13?
Much better energy return in the SL2 with Lightstrike Pro. In the forefoot I feel the Supernova bottom out where in the SL2 I can run a good clip faster and get much more propulsion. The same effort I go 20-30 seconds faster in the SL2.
I try to comment about fit, but I frequently forget to mention it when the shoe fits as I expect. I think this shoe is true to size, but it's a bit more on the snug side, as are the competitors I've suggested. and I have the same size in the Boston 12 and Adios Pro 3 (and every other Adidas shoe I've mentioned in this video). so I think there are really two things that people conflate when talking about how a shoe feels on the foot: fit and sizing. (1) Fit is like with jeans: skinny fit, slim fit, boot cut, or wide leg. This shoe is more of a slim fit, and if you don't like slim fit feel, changing the size may solve the problem of slimness, but it then means you're in the wrong size shoe. (2) Sizing: is the arch where your arch is? is the forefoot of the shoe where your forefoot is? is the toe box too shallow? is there too much play in the heel? This shoe fits true to size for me (and if anything, it resolves the issue typical in a lot of Adidas daily trainers where the shoe is a little bit long for no reason). now as far as what the brand recommends for sizing, I suspect that there are multiple reasons why they would say that, even though I think the shoe is true to size. for example, new runners may not know how to buy a running shoe online and they may be picking the wrong size. I speculate that it highly reduces the likelihood of a return or an unhappy customer if the shoe is just a bit too big rather than just a bit too snug.
@@kofuzi wow thanks for the detailed reply. I wasn’t being critical at all, if that’s how it came across. I have the SL2, Boston 12, and Adios Pro 3 and I feel the SL2 is more narrow than the other 2 and the toe box is much more shallow. The fit feels more “racey” to me than any other shoe I’ve worn before in my size
I ordered half a size up, and the result was totally unexpected: they are too SHORT for my feet. Adidas SL2 in size EU 42 2/3 is definetely shorter than Puma Velocity Nitro 3 in EU size 42. Looking on shoes size chart online for Puma and Adidas shoes, this is confirmed: EU 42 size for Puma is 27 cm in length, while EU 42 2/3 size for Adidas is 26,3 cm. I really don't know how Adidas can be considered TTS.
I hope u can or somebody reading this can hep me up with a reference: how does SL2 compare to asics magic Speed 3, im want to buy any of this 2 shoes to improve my 10k PB(55min)... I know they are in a different segments, but for reviews i can see they also have some similarities... Any thoughts that can help me decide which one to buy... Im 5'7 and 140lb with thin and narrow feet...Thx...
This shoe has an amazing ride, excellent bounce, awesome build quality, would be a good deal for $150, much less $129… Note, one inexplicable error, zero arch support and built in insole. I needed to add thin insoles to avoid feet rolling inward.
I have a question as a heavy runner. If I want to run 5 and 10K, would you recommend the marathon shoes? Because we might want more cushioning because of our weight or our height????😊
I always say that it's your money and your feet. if you like it, do it. and I think the marathon shoes are great for racing 5k and 10k, at almost any runner size. I just want to clarify that for everyday runs of 5k and 10k, I wouldn't typically recommend racing shoes for anyone. what's great for racing isn't always what's great for easy days. what's considered soft and cushioned for racing isn't what's considered soft and cushioned for everyday. it's kind of like suspension on a car. you wouldn't want race car suspension for a trip to the grocery store. so if you're looking for a shoe with more cushion for everyday running, I'd look to the max cushion category.
Can I get away with mostly using this shoe for base *and* long runs if long runs are typically under 25 km? Or are these designed to kind of force you into getting the Bostons for long runs?
I will start out by saying that I don't think they design shoes with motivation to "force" us into getting multiple kinds of shoes. I think shoes are designed for certain types of use cases where they me more suitable for some kinds of running and maybe not so great at others. I believe I mentioned in this video that I don't love this shoe for long runs (however one defines that). it's not what I think this shoe is designed for. if you're looking for one shoe for daily training and long runs, I'd suggest looking at the Supernova Rise or perhaps getting just the Boston.
This or the Peg41 for dailying? I want a flat running show for daily training, whereby i want to do most of the work myself instead of the shoe. My current setup is Pegs39 for daily, Zoomfly for long runs, Vaporfly for race day, thanks!
I haven’t tested the Peg 41, but if you’re enjoying the existing Pegasus, I’d anticipate you’ll enjoy the Peg 41. But if you’re looking to try some shoes that aren’t from the swoosh, I think the Adizero SL2 could provide a familiar experience
@@kofuziawesome thanks! Im already into 400 miles for the Pegs39, and may jump ship to 3 stripes for my daily. Anyways, I love your marathon running vids, very cinematic and full of emotions, keep it up! 🔥
They overlap significantly in terms of use case, but they are targeted to very different runners. A lot of that will come down to preference. In terms of differences, the UB5X is more chill and better at longer runs. The Adizero SL2 is better at shorter quick runs.
I consider it a forgotten shoe in a way. it can take the place of a Takumi Sen, depending on the preferences of a runner, but I can't imagine a time where I'd personally prefer the Adios to the Takumi. but the Adios loses the energy rods and is a slightly lower stack height with a mix of foams perhaps it would make sense for a runner who specializes in shorter faster races and wants a very flexible, almost minimal road flat. in a lot of ways, it's similar to the streakfly. the alternative is to consider it a budget option instead of the takumi
We (mostly) agree again on the SL2. I disagree that the B12 is a max cushion shoe. Have you considered doing reviews of running shoes where you're unaware of the price? I suspect that if you were able to get these shoes for quite a bit cheaper it'd affect how you rate them, equally if they're more expensive it'll affect your rating of them.
Great video as always! Would about the Adios line pls? Been looking forward to the 9 (I run 5-10km barefoot - Tri) thank you!
it's fair to compare the SL2 to the NB Rebel v4?
!!Por culpa de haber tantas Adizero, las quiero todasss y me está costando...excelente review Kofuzi !! Empezaré comprando la Adios pro 3 por 150 €...!!
Been waiting for this
Kofuzi, just spot on, excellent review, I like your lineup explained!!!!!
thanks for watching!
Hola Kozufi !! tienes mi like !! El Adizero Boston 12 encaja en cada una de las partes de todos los demás Adizero !!
How is this shoe for a beginner runner that seeking a do it all shoe?
Im leaning towards this or novablast 4, this is better for its versatility but NB4 is definitely softer and more protective
i wonder how much of an upgrade are these over my Velocity Nitro 2's 🤔
Thank you.
What about the adios8?
Sounds like a 'only pack 1 pair of shoes for holiday' type of shoe, 👌 great value too
It certainly could be used that way
Hi Kofuzi, great video, thanks.
Thanks Kofuzi, don't forget still my daily favourite the adidas solarboost
i like the running in the SL2.
All the influencers are prasing SL2. However, it's a really bad shoe for wider feet or heavier people.
Adidas comming strong!!!
orale guey finnally !! Dude you forgot the adios 8. that shoe is better at track or fast workouts, and is way more stable due to lower stack, and has continental rubber. can't go wrong going all adizero rotation now.
How would you compare the novablast 4 and sl 2? Which one would you take as a daily shoe?
my preference would be the novablast 4. I like super squishy shoes.
your preferences may be different than mine.
@@kofuzi thanks! They seem like a great show from your review, I will look into them!
Is it stable enough for a pronating runner?
I don't know guys , how you can feel all that things on shoes ? :D bounce energy return end so on . Maybe I am different , but I can feel only weight , if its fit or not , and if ist soft or stiff :D my average run pace is 5:00min/km . I just saw this review on SL2 , bought them , and it is my second pair for my first shoe rotation , and SL2 in first try on was like brick for walk , but when I run 4:20pace they are good, to compare my z2 shoes NB 1080 v13.
I like the new line up part of your reviews
Thanks for the feedback
Hello Kofuzi,
Is the Hoka mach 6 and SL2 comparable ? Which would you pick ?
Thanks for this one! I am somewhat eager to invest in those, but I truly do not like the colorway nor the colorways in the offer. On the other hand the colorway of the original SL was a blast! But I don’t know, the Supernova is tempting as well, hiding the secrets of previously unbeknownst, wanting the daily trainer that could go long. Any news on the Boston 13?
Kofuzi, are you going to do a review on the brooks Hyperion max 2?
Supernova rise is so underrated. Can do it all.
Much better energy return in the SL2 with Lightstrike Pro. In the forefoot I feel the Supernova bottom out where in the SL2 I can run a good clip faster and get much more propulsion. The same effort I go 20-30 seconds faster in the SL2.
the supernova rise has been surprisingly polarizing. I'm a fan, but it doesn't seem to be for everyone
I feel like sizing should be talked about. Definitely feels about a half size too small compared to other brands and even the Boston 12 and Pro 3.
That's exactly the sizing variation that Adidas suggest on their website for SL2: fits small, go half a size up.
How would you say it compares to the Hoka Mach 5 I have heard it a pretty soft sl how would it compare to the Mach
SL2 here in my country costs 110 usd while the original SL is 60.
Is the extra light strike pro worth 50 bucks?
We can get a great runner under $150!.. right?!. I’m loving it in the (Kofuzi) color way. Thanks for the advice.
Between this and the Pegasus 41, it is almost a no-brainer to get the SL2.
Where does this leave the Adios series 😅?
This shoe has an amazing ride, excellent bounce, awesome build quality, would be a good deal for $150, much less $129…
Note, one inexplicable error, zero arch support and built in insole.
I needed to add thin insoles to avoid feet rolling inward.
I have a question as a heavy runner. If I want to run 5 and 10K, would you recommend the marathon shoes? Because we might want more cushioning because of our weight or our height????😊
6'2 training between 190-205lb. Racing at 180-185lb?
@@kofuzi thanks for your time. I do appreciate you. 🙏🏻
Where would the Adios 9 fit?
So where does the adios 8 fit?!
cant wait for the review for superblast 2
They feel quite good when i tried then in the store. Waiting adidas to discount before i buy them
I'd love to see a review of the Fila Racer Carbon 2
Such a nice video. Loved it.
Thank you so much!
Adidas SL 2 versus adios 8, which is better for fast workout
adios 8 for most workouts
Hey KO, is that a flesk bottle with stand you have in your hands? Could you tell me what model it is?
it's from hydrapak. I don't recall the exact model name
@@kofuzi thanks.
have you tried running them beyond 90m minutes or within 3 hours?
Vs hyperion 2, rebel v4, mach 6?
@@kofuzi Thanks, man.
Not a huge issue but I’m so happy adidas switched back to putting the stripes on both sides of the shoe
should i go same size as boston (10)?
I recently tried on the Boston 12 and I hated the heel area, and those big dumb lace loops. Not a shoe I’d ever want to run in.
How would you compare the SL 2 with the new ultraboost 5/5x?
They overlap significantly in terms of use case, but they are targeted to very different runners. A lot of that will come down to preference.
In terms of differences, the UB5X is more chill and better at longer runs. The Adizero SL2 is better at shorter quick runs.
its firm cuz u a running on forefoot. same happened to me. but it very soft on heel strike.
Where do you see Adios line fits in current Adizero lineup?
I'm not sure anymore
ruclips.net/video/f5qjYKdnKts/видео.htmlsi=JY_uwlwfqnqa4Ymv
Where does the adios 8 fit in the adizero line up?
I consider it a forgotten shoe in a way. it can take the place of a Takumi Sen, depending on the preferences of a runner, but I can't imagine a time where I'd personally prefer the Adios to the Takumi. but the Adios loses the energy rods and is a slightly lower stack height with a mix of foams
perhaps it would make sense for a runner who specializes in shorter faster races and wants a very flexible, almost minimal road flat. in a lot of ways, it's similar to the streakfly.
the alternative is to consider it a budget option instead of the takumi
Should i go half a size up? I have two pairs of boston 12, can this be a good adition for easy runs?
I would use the same size you use for your bostons
I love my tracksmith shoes ,all 3 pair are pretty at the end due to me putting so many. Miles on all of them but I'll try these Adidas
Does it just like adios 6/7?
Did it feel stable to you?
Nice vid! Btw what's the background rap music?😊
