Thanks! I was having bad luck in September, but October was a good month for responses ;) . I wish I could put out more, but there's only so much that happens out in the suburbs haha. Once I get into the rhythm of this school year, I'll try to take some trips downtown to get a little diversity :) .
Despite what is shown in this video, 'most' responding units (police/fire/ems) will always take the left/passing lane. Splitting traffic, especially with so many different drivers/temperments/reactions/conditions is inherently risky and inviting collision. The left lane, even if drivers have to yield/move, ensures everybody is going in a uniform direction and in most instances (*not all) actually improves response times. So, please, drive cautiously, stay calm, slow down (don't have to STOP, as a rule) and please use your indicators. Sincerely, your friendly neighbourhood 'Medic. P.S. Cool video of our Quebec neighbours.
The Inspectors of the STM Sûreté and Contrôle can make traffic stops on vehicles, meaning that they can detain people for investigation. They also have the power to issue citations and make arrests, although they have non-lethal weapons only.
Do you know the nature of this traffic stop? I assume they can only make them in relation to an offense committed against STM property, rather than just pulling people over for speeding?
Thanks, Gary! Just checking, but did you mean Taurus or Explorer? It would be interesting to see sedans replacing SUVs, but also nice to see both Tauruses and Explorers working together as Supervisors in Urgences-Santé.
Actually, no. The Taurus platform is called the PPS, Police Interceptor Sedan, and the Explorer platform is called Police Interceptor Utility. The Tahoes however can be called SSV or PPV.
+Rian McDonald it really depends on who's sitting in the officer seat playing with the switches ;-) on my truck we have a few functions we can play with like that .lots of fun
+Rian McDonald I'm a volunteer in Waskesiu, Saskatchewan I move out here about a year ago I work in law enforcement. I grew up at station's 15, 03 & 20 when I was a teenager and my uncle works as a firefighter for SIM . I've been a firebuff since I was a little boy
+FireRescue215_1 Oh, alright, well I guess now I know why you haven't put out many SIM videos in a year or so lol. Nice to know that you're an LEO ;) .
PLEASE NOTE: Since this video is almost 15 minutes long, it will take some time to load into 1080p. If you'd like to see this video in its best quality, please be patient ;) . Thanks!
No, im actually in elementary ;) But im thinking when i go to high school i will go to JR. BTW my 2 favourite fire stations are The one on St Jean near the 20 Highway and The one across from Pierrefonds comprehensive. Sorry i dont know the station numbers :/
+Jason Gagne Well, I'm not sure if you know this or not, but the police are wearing non-uniform pants in protest of governmental austerity measures that would affect their pension. Since they aren't legally allowed to go on strike (essential services), they have to find whatever way possible to voice their opposition. Now, the police aren't just wearing camo pants, it's whatever silly pants they can find... clown pants, riding breeches or just plain old jeans. I believe that camo pants are the most popular because they're the most similar to their regular uniform pants.
+Jason Gagne Yeah, I've been thinking of putting a small disclaimer in the description because it's the #1 question people ask me 😅 . Thanks for stopping by!

STM Controlers can arrest a vehicle ??

148 killed his lights as he was probably cancelled as the computer aid dispatch system suggested a closer Ambulance within the rules of management .
Ah, thank you Gary!
Yup, sometimes we get cancelled off calls for a multitude of reasons.
Watch for Urgences-sante supervisors with Taurus PPV in 2016 replacing their Tahoes.
Thanks, Gary! Just checking, but did you mean Taurus or Explorer? It would be interesting to see sedans replacing SUVs, but also nice to see both Tauruses and Explorers working together as Supervisors in Urgences-Santé.
The real name for Taurus is PPV Police pack vehicle. The real name for Explorer is PPV Utility.
Actually, no. The Taurus platform is called the PPS, Police Interceptor Sedan, and the Explorer platform is called Police Interceptor Utility. The Tahoes however can be called SSV or PPV.
Awesome video!
Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed! May I ask you if you've ever heard any siren-work quite like the one of the first clip of 455?

Do you know why the Police chose camo for pants?
