2:53 I lived in Rocky for 22 years and mainly worked in transport, except for a 6 year stint at CQU in InfoTech. I've been inside that house and the view from out the back is pretty impressive. It's definitely a million dollar plus home.

I can imagine the view. Stepping out the back door and looking straight down would be a bit of a worry if you were a sleep walker 🤐. Also, you would hope that the poles were well and truly solidly into the ground in an earthquake ...
Fantastic views from up there. Rocky was a breath of fresh air with it's architecture, as was Bundaberg. We've got just a few over here in the west - Fremantle, York, Toodyay, Albany and Katanning would be pretty much up the list.

@@lauriekibblewhite Hehe. That house you showed with the huge support poles? I spent years wondering when that might fall off the cliff...

@@lauriekibblewhite So you're from The West? I lived in Glengarry/Duncraig when it was first developed for four years. We moved there when I was 8 I think. Drove back to Brisbane in 1976(?) across the Nullarbor and up through the inland road.

@@BradGryphonn Yep, My son Brett lives in Heathridge, and Matt is in Shorehaven - formerley Alkimos. You wouldn't recognise it these days. It's ridiculous how far the metro area extends over here now.

@@lauriekibblewhite I went looking on Google Earth once because I figured I could find my old address without having to search for it. Well, I was way wrong. When I lived there in the early 70s (7 Carlyle Crescent), the freeway hadn't gone through, and behind us was bushland and a farm where they broke wild horses in the old school way. Across the road was all bushland to Warwick Road.

That's a fair old drive. What were you doing? From your other comment, were you truck driving?

@@lauriekibblewhite Yep. I did express runs every day to Emerald from Rocky. I also did a lot of high-priority runs with parts for coal mines from West of Mackay to out Emerald way. Oh. I lived in Blackwater in 1983 and for a while in 1986. That was an experience.
