  • This video demonstrates how to georeference an X7 point cloud to a real-world location. With coarse georeferecing - refinement - fine georeferencing, TBC is able to apply the proper scale factor to the point cloud, tighten the registration, and complete the georeferencing.

THANK YOU!!! I've been going slowly crazy trying to get the scan station points to move with the geo-referenced point cloud data. All I had to do was hit recompute to solve it.

Why is the scale factor applied to each scan individually and not just to the whole point cloud group?

    It's 3 Parameter or
    7 Parameter?

Hi Junning, when you use just one point pair in georeferencing, it's a 3 parameter transformation. When you use more than 3 point pairs, TBC will do a 7 parameter transformation.
