- In this video I'm up at Baffle Creek with the boys chasing the most elusive, hardest fighting and toughest adversary of the estuary. It's a species you might not think of when you first think of the tropical target species that this region is famous for but it's one species more commonly overlooked and underrated as a premiere wet sock of a sports fish. To be fair I'm pretty much taking the piss throughout this whole video as all the real target species didn't read the script and unfortunately didn't show up on set for this shoot.
Ive never heard anyone get so excited for a 30cm cod..

Can’t say I’ve had southern coral trout but I’ve definitely had heaps from Cairns and naniguy, red emperor and all the reef species

I grew up there, still have property there. You never know what you're going to catch in the Baffle. The Barra are on the Southside near Winfield, there's a few spots down there for big Barra and Jacks

Depends what weekend you were there, it’s been tough fishing so they say. We were there labour long weekend and pretty slow
Yeah typically we used to go up in October to chase the jacks. Always seemed to have good success around that time of year.
