Have been waiting so long for your update to your work on this project. I will stay tuned for the installation video and the hardware packs. Great job and congratulations!
Only thing missing is designing a gearbox with a tiny diff (probably ball diff design similar too a mini-z one.) & a ballbearing or two for the rear axle too sit on, might add a bit extra weight but performance turning would be fantastic for the size then almost on par with a losi micro t just missing the independent rear suspension, hell design a chassis that takes this front end & the rear drivetrain of a micro t with a lighter drone motor like say a 10mm one and you pretty much are there. Got a tomy gx buggy here that has a bit glitchy remote. (Struggles a bit reversing for example so you got too wait a few seconds even if its standing still.) (Pretty much one of the first micro buggies of this variety, shorter wheelbase, non proportional steering though, very commonly cloned these days. Like the velocis 1:32 clone, pretty much just different body mount, wheels, tires & virhuck 1:32 truck clone is just a truck version of this chassis. I've had the gx buggy about 4 years now, but these released back in 2011 according too ads made on it at least.) one modified with a mini-z pcb & potentiometer so it has proportional steering still 1s lipo & mini-z wheels, tires i think might be tamiya mini 4wd in the rear, front knuckle axles from a rwd mini-z for the wheelnuts & mini-z front wheels. ruclips.net/video/eO5UylqEYIs/видео.html I've put in a 8.5x 7mm motor & got a bit extra oomph out of it, with the lego tires in the rear it's quite fast for its size & heavy enough too break the front end for me here heh. I can do wheelies pretty much constantly if i move the battery back a bit more & run the foam tires in the rear or some light rubber tires from a mini-z, battery im using a bit tired 240 mah 1s lipo i put ontop of the chassis itself & a larger 520 mah battery from another hubsan drone. For the front wheels i found some screws from an old auldey race tin rc car (toy grade rc car with some upgrade things like different motors, gear ratios, wheels, tires etc..) Those axles has slightly smaller axle diameter then a mini-z ball bearing so I'm running a pair of cracked mini-z foam tires in the front on ball bearings bit extra weight in the front helps as well, though steering motor doesn't like it too heavy there on my little tomy gx buggy. Kind of looking towards a rc28t besides fixing up my mini-z monster, mini-z mr01 & my hpi e-firestorm over the autumn & winter seasons setting aside some money i can here & there for it, i need servo parts for the mini-z monster, motor, pinions if i manage too get the 27 mhz board working without too much electrical noise causing it too take off on me, mr01 is the same & that is actually already whole but im kind of looking too convert it with a different esc & soldering up a servo board too the stock servo setup too run indoors strictly in my apartment & the basement here. Hpi e-firestorm i need esc, battery, rear tires (burnouts with brushless is fun until you dont have any grip anymore for wheelies lol.) Front a arm mount & longer screws for the battery mount perhaps so i can put in taller lipo batteries, might go with a battery strap instead though. (Will be using spacers between the battery nuts & the battery mount then if i stick with that so i don't spend like 20 seconds unscrewing it if the battery starts too burn.)
Hey there. I have it on my short course truck. From what I remember there was only minor if any trimming of the body around the fender arches. Mainly what helped with clearance was moving the front body post to the highest position, so the body sits a little higher in front.
Good video! Do you know where you can buy the Exceed version of the buggy? I have tried google, and cant seem to find it. I have the TR28 from associated and is great. I am now looking for some small foam tires for it. I love your mod and will check it out!
@@brianconklin3439 Thanks for the fast reply! That makes sense. Once upon a time I had the HPI Q32 buggy. Do you remember that?, my god I loved that little thing. Then it was discontinued. Recently, noticed the associated TR28 truggy so got it. Its almost the same, just slightly larger. I hate the body, so I made one out of thick poster board and came out really nice. (buggy). I wish they sold clear body's, as it only comes with one color option and my son and I race them inside.
Hey just went to your site to buy the kit but can’t find the extra hardware kit so I get the screws too, would really like to buy everything necessary directly from you to modify this thing the right way :)
Hey there, thanks for your message. You can purchase the plastic parts from Shapeways and the hardware (screws, springs, etc) directly from me. See the description below the video here --> ruclips.net/video/26gViBJb-xk/видео.html for details on ordering the hardware. Let me know if you have any questions.
Sorry, Joseph, I'm not currently offering the kits fully assembled. I just don't have time to do it. They are pretty straight forward to assemble though, I have detailed videos on how to do it. Only simple hand tools are needed.
The kit with shocks (plastic parts) is $23.52 + shipping from ShapeWays. The hardware kit to put it together is $10.50 shipped (from me directly). You can find all the info on ordering in the description of this video.
They're a bit of a handful on hardwood or other slippery surfaces. Not having a rear diff doesn't help for sure. Being real gentile and gradual with the throttle helps a lot.
Hi Chris. Please see the description for this video, all the ordering into and links are in there. If you need shocks, there are a couple options, and there is a video explaining those options also linked above. I hope that helps!
Hey there. I'm not sure on the lead time from Shapeways at this moment, but it's usually like 2-3 weeks. The hardware kits from my are generally in stock and I can usually ship them within a couple days after receiving payment. Thanks for your interest!
Hi. Yes, still available. You can follow the instructions in the description above to order the plastic parts from Shapeways and the hardware directly from me. Thanks!
Boiling suspension parts in Rit Dye.. that takes me back!
Hahah, yup!
Found it! Ordered 2 kits. Please keep going with other projects for this Platform. This could be a fun niche!
Great, thanks!

Nice dude. Those losi micros were so dope, i'm so glad they are getting popular again.
Yeah me too! They are a lot of fun, you can run them about anywhere! Cats love chasing them too! Not so much with the 1:10 scale cars lol

Wow, cool stuff!
That's awesome great job!
so which hardware is need besides the full kit with the shocks??
is this a worthit upgrade? can you notice the difference with handling and landing jumps!
I beleive it is, and I have a lot of happy customers who think it is too. The ar definately jumps and turns better with proper front suspension.
Great job sir, can't wait to get one!
Hey Brian- this is super cool.
Have you tried running in on the short course trucks? I wonder what would need cut

The Exceed cars seem to no longer be available. I'm guessing as part of the deal with AE they agreed to stop selling them, but who knows.

will it turn left now on hardwood floors?
all 3 of mine do donuts right and barely turn left.
They're a bit of a handful on hardwood or other slippery surfaces. Not having a rear diff doesn't help for sure. Being real gentile and gradual with the throttle helps a lot.
Amazing!
good evening, where is this kit? also includes shock absorbers?
