I will give him credit. He isn`t hiding that there are backing tracks,with him singing live and his guitar. So many acts do this but won`t admit it.
@Ta-Kuan Fuan ok,but is he playing all the instruments that he recorded live? If so,thats ok.

If you watch the video (and maybe other performance videos to see him do it more), he’s using the loop machine to capture the sounds he is making with his instruments live. Each sound he creates is assigned to a peddle, and that’s why you’ll see him tap the different peddles because he’s layering them and switching them as he’s singing. WAY harder than just strumming a guitar.
@@KarmaisKatii based on this I would call a live show by Sheeran quasi live. He sings he plays instruments. No matter what,if he is alone on stage sings and dances and plays guitar its live. The pedal part is why I call it quasi. Its a matter of perspective.

That’s pretty normal though, just so they can get the best camera angles in editing. Has nothing to do with the musical track which should just be from one gig. The visual, sure, multiple concerts.

That loop station looks a lot bigger than the one that’s being sold on the “Sheeran Loopers” site 🤔 & are his loop stations wireless? Idk how 2 of them are going around in circles without the wiring being caught on something

as a pianist.. this wasnt live.. and was pre recorded.. because the notes he played there didnt match the sound produced.. from the keyboard.. the guitar may has been live but that part was not.. love ed love his live shows but watching this. even delay on recording doesnt account for how he made the note sound out off a different key. ( what i mean it each up it went the sound when to mid octive and up each time but he pressed the same note a whole octive up.
he doesn’t play piano, for the live performances he uses a keyboard with misplaced keys so he can play them all at the same corner. It’s the same with live performances of bad habits and shape of you, you can notice how he plays only keys side by side and the notes are not in the right position if compared to a normal keyboard. But it’s live

Idk. I still say it’s fake. The last note played on the keyboard is clearly a D, however it wasn’t a D note that you heard. Seems off
his keyboard is adapted to make it simpler, so the notes he uses are placed side by side on the corner. You can notice it as well in Shape of You and Bad Habits performances. Ed has been using loop pedals since he started playing live, much longer before he got successful and started playing stadiums. @@teresasarmanho I’m not saying he doesn’t know how or has never used a loop pedal, but perhaps during massive live performances it’s more “scripted”. It’s possible. I’ve worked on the tech side of live performances for bands for years. Something just seems off.

Well somebody's lying somewhere. Either it's a fake loopstation and all he does is press play. Or somehow his loopstation knows exactly when he's going to start singing because it just started playing the beginning sounds that he made..

i didn't quite understand what you mean, but his loop has multiple buttons he presses to mute, record and play. it can also record in separate layers that are not superposed, this way he presses play in different recorded sounds in different moments of the song. in this video someone tried to recreate the controls ed presses during a "Shivers" performance, it's a really nice one: ruclips.net/video/KhH5qN7kWkg/видео.html

Does anyone know what loop pedal he uses?
MIDI programmable foot controller (not sure which one but any would work) but the key is it's going into Ableton Live with the Mobius Looping VST. Otherwise I'd suggest the Boss RC-505, it's a good pedal
