A feature documentary film about Ali Boulala, a world-famous skateboarder who tries to heal the wounds on the inside. Kickstarter Project www.kickstarte...
Whoa! Never heard of this until just now. Looks like they met their goal of €35,000. I'll definitely buy this when it comes out. Boulala rules. They need to get him on the Nine Club.
I saw this film yesterday and I can't stop thinking about it. It's painfully honest. No whitewashing, no grandiosity, just pure honesty. There's laughter, pain, and tears. All you need in a good documentary.
@@aog8202 I saw it at the Warsaw Film Festival... the director of this film was there for a Q&A... such a cool experience :) I haven't been able to find it anywhere... I can't wait to get it on DVD!
As someone who's funded films on Kickstarter, I get it... but maybe after all the backers get their copy, something like this should be available to young, skate kids who perhaps don't have the money to spend on a documentary. Ali's story is on of importance in the skateboarding world, because as the great Stacy Peralta once said in his "Dogtown and Z Boys" documentary; "A lot of wayward kids get attracted to skateboarding..." He claims he doesn't know why, but of course he does. Skateboarding is FREE. Once you get a complete setup, which nowadays can be gotten super cheap, it doesn't COST anything to ride a skateboard. Your parents don't need to sign you up for some "league" or team sport bullshit, where you need uniforms or all that shit that costs $$$$$$. If I were the director of this film, I'd contact Roger over at The Nine Club and see if you can get on to promote the film. That would be a step in the right direction. Crob, Kelly, Roger, Steezus, etc... all those guys are super cool and I'm sure would try to help you out in any way they could. I think they'd be all over something like this... anyway. Just my 2 cents. Good luck mate.
peace drunk..ali
