His material is not a disservice to Christians. He's right; there are some goofy and unnecessary behaviors going on in American Christendom that should be pointed out in a light-hearted way so that those who may be 'guilty' of these behaviors but may not be aware of them will stop and go, "hmmm..." His stuff is funny because it's true to a certain extent (humor is exaggeration). And if you can't laugh at yourself, someone else will; why not beat them to the punch.... line?

jackessism I have that quote hanging on the wall in my kitchen. I love it! God gave us a sense of humor as a good gift from Him. I like how Crist magnifies, in a hilarious way, the funny things about the culture surrounding Christianity but not Christianity itself. Good laughs!

he is right we do take our Christianity for granted sometimes. our church believes in planting churches we have a church in Suzhou China and it has Revival Chinese people are so open but they can't go out and share their faith openly we are so blessed could be in our nation that we're in I am so grateful I could read my Bible anytime I want I can pray out loud if I want to. but he is right there's people in other countries that walk miles just to hear the gospel.

I love everything he said, but what really stuck out to me was the "1 of 8 kids, you kinda need something to get attention." That made me sad to think about how some kids just fall by the wayside in the shuffle of siblings. Never thought about how that could be a prayer point, but wow. It definitely is. I'm so glad he shared that so honestly.
Just found out he is coming to my town, I so want to go. Being Christian doesn't mean you have to have no sense of humor. I am devout Catholic now but was raised in an evelangalical family. Evangelical and fundimalental denominations are definitely what his audience is.
If he's a menace to the local church (yes he was entangled in some unapropiate behavior with women, confessed it and made changes back to his Christian faith) then, we need 50% of every churches congregations to do exactly what John did. Openly confess all sin and make a visible change. Odds are 10% of us would actually do that. 10% is a very high and exaggerated number that would do as John did. I'm glad I became aware of his talent. John is definitely talented in showing more truth about the condition of Christians and the Church today than, most pastors behind pulpits in America today.

John is a breath of fresh air for Christianity, especially in the West. We not only need to be able to lighten up but also check ourselves on how we’re doing as a community to believers and nonbelievers alike.
