GAMEOVER YEAAAAAAAA I died at that part.
Valik Toma I thought it was funny when I first heard it from one of WeeklyTubeShow's videos. XD
that's sega for you!
I was at my cousin's house and he was playing the demo for burnout 3, that shit hooked me in right away. After we beat the levels given in the demo, we headed out to the store and I bought a copy for me and one for him. Everybody won that day.
Wave Race: Blue Storm on the Nintendo Gamecube deserves more love.
agree but its not as good as n64 version
what about the Splashdown series? I like both games even if there's a george between them :)
TOP GEAR RALLY on the N64 is soooo under rated. the control was perfect
1:28 "There's no pop-up anywhere..." **a rectangle suddenly appears behind the bridge on the horizon**
3:41 Drinking and driving, Dave? Shame on you! ;P
It was beyong View Distance but it's very funny that it happens when he mentions it xD
When i got outrun 2006 it was one of those calculated risks
....it was £2 in cash converters (a british pawn shop chain for those not in the know) but it came without anything but a disc thats why it was so cheap (that and i bought it in 2011)
i wasnt sure what to do because i just plain didnt want to be dissapointed and if i bought it i was skint for the rest of the week
Im a sega and outrun fanboy you see and eventualy after about an hour deciding (i didnt want to risk being skint for a pile of shite and risk being dissapointed with a remake ....i have been down that road too many times with a certain blue hog) the name won out
.......Best two quid i EVER spent
Need for speed Underground 2 was one of my favorites and still is to this day. I loved the customization and the cars u can buy. I always went with my good ol s13 Silvia when drfiting down the mountains
Good gracious! I love Game Sack! Definitely one of the best game related shows on youtube!
Love the inclusion of Waverace 64. Definitely one of the best racing games ever made.
Dave is too nice. He mentioned our xbox before his.
There was also a PC version of the Road Rash game, and I loved that game. Hard time hunting it down.
Hydro Thunder is a favorite of mine too 👍
imo it's the definition of a fun pickup-and-play arcade racer.
Big Blue on F-Zero is my favorite music track on any racing game ever made
World Driver Championship N64. Underrated,, one of the best.
i still play outrun 2006 to this day! what a fantastic game. a timeless classic if you ask me
Burnout 3 and Burnout Revenge are CLASSICS! I love both of those games so much.
I first thought "really? no San Francisco Rush?" and then immediately thought "hey! how about you guys make a Midway episode?" Just a thought :-)
Game sack is the shit I've watched every video numerous times love you guys
Never been a huge racing game fan, but I absolutely LOVE Sled Storm for the PS1. Really cool snowmobile racing game with lots of tracks with cool secrets and shortcuts to find, decent soundtrack, upgradeable vehicles and even more.
I especially love how with the Logitech Driving Force GT the wheel had a real loose and buzzy force feeback to it, just like how the arcade game felt... now that's attention to detail!
Gran Turismo 2 was my absolute favorite when I had a PS. A friend and I made it almost like a co-op game because of how much there was to do in the game. All the grinding of courses for cash to finish the dealership races gave the game an RPG feel.
After all the times Joe has mentioned putting game music on his iPod, I'm surprised he didn't mention doing the same for F-Zero. F-Zero has some of the absolute best music ever put to a game. I'd say it is better than Chemical Plant Zone and Casino Night Zone, but as a Sega fan, I'd have to commit Seppuku.
Actually I do have some F-Zero tracks on my iPod. From the cart as well as from the Gamecube version. I also have arranged versions of the N64 game (I wouldn't put the original mono low-quality track on there).
Game Sack
I don't know if you've played it but F-Zero on the GBA is a very good spiritual successor to the original.
One of my favourite racing games was during the Playstation 1 era. 'TOCA 2' was a phenomenal game with great race physics and addictive game play.
The soundtrack in Burnout 3 is actually amazing! Don't make me upset, Sacks :(
Ending was epic! Some of my favourite racing games are Gran Turismo 2, Need For Speed: Porsche 2000 (PC version), Dirt 2, Wipeout 2097, Sega Rally, Daytona USA (Arcade), Road Rash (PS version), Moto Racer (PC version), Destruction Derby 2, Formula 1 (PS) just to name few and list goes on. So many great racing games out there.
I was very pissed watching the video Joe, I was pissed for not mentioning Sega Rally Championship, but then you added it in and all is forgiven, that's truly an underrated game and one of my favorites!
It's a bit of a weird one though in that the US Saturn game was released in a slightly less finished state than Europe or Japan. Mostly down to a few graphical details such as the animated fan, more detailed car liveries and more background objects.
BrySkye
I had the PC version so I don't know, but at least it was better than the GBA version.
I love Gamesack because when I work on Sunday's I'm a double and start work early and watching it gives me something to wake up to or I watch it on break and always have something to look forward to!
The late 90's Need for Speed games on the PC, namely Hot Pursuit. Especially with a steering wheel. Me and my drinking buddies had SO much fun with that game circa 98 - 2001.
Sega GT is a game s I can never get sick of. The arcade style drifting does it for me. Others to mention, formula 1 built to win, final lap twin , moto roader, al unser Jr turbo racing, rush 2049,victory run, and neo drift out...are racing games I still love today
Aaaand I just finished my Game Sack Maraton! All the episodes in less than a week! You guys are great! Keep up the good work! Cheers!
Shadow Dancer is indeed one of my favorite racing games! (Yes I saw your second comment fixing this one).
Super Hang On (arcade port for Wii VC) really shines for me, not only on a nostalgic side (music keeps me driving!). But OR2C2 shines also for me newly, although I suck at drifting!
Also BLUR & Velocity Maximum (or whatever it was called for PS3) really are memorable. Splashdown series too (both games).
Watching Game Sack's appreciation for Burnout 3 makes me happy
You should tell that camping story again. I laughed my ass off at the part about Dave taking a dump in the woods. You said he accidentally crapped on an ant and cried about it for like an hour, because he didn't mean to hurt that ant and make it suffer by suffocating in his feces. That is a classic story!
"The Store"
10/10 comedy gold.
Neo Drift Out dude. Best 2D racing game I've tried. Feels so organic and much easier than most other 2D racing games I've seen.
Joe talks about that one in the Neo Geo CD episode~
Aw no love for Motorstorm?
Oh well, you guys are still awesome.
Hey, that's one of my favorites too! I wish they would bring that IP back for the current gen!!
Outrun 2, all day, every day and twice on sundays! 👍
My favorite racing games are Skitchin', Road Rash 3, Mario Kart (SNES), Crash Team Racing, Destruction Derby: Arenas, Juiced 2: Hot Import Nights, Need For Speed 3: Hot Pursuit, Burnout: Revenge, RC Pro AM (or Championship Pro AM on the Genesis), Combat Cars, & Rock N' Roll Racing.
Sweet list. Every game on your list is truly one of the all-time greatest racers - ever. Nice job!
I especially love Dave's shout out to WRC on the PS2. One of the best rally games for sure.
kinda sad the other series never came outside of europe
Yeah I know. Europe gets all the best rally and F1 racers. I did buy WRC 2,3,&4 and got them to play on my PS2. Holy crap 3 and 4 are some of the best rally racers I've ever played on any system!
I wish you guys could do this show full time! Love your shows more and more with each episode! Excellent as usual :)
I used to love me some V-Rally on the Dreamcast. Test Drive Lemans was also a great racing title for the Dreamcast, I just wish it supported the VGA adapter. Great video. Love seeing gamers who also enjoy old school games .
Don't drink and fake drive! You might get a GAME OVER YEAAAAAAAAAH
James Johnson XD
Your videos are so good that I feel two weeks are ages while waiting for the next episode of gamesack!! Awesome work guys
Damn Joe you've never seen the Sega Rally Cabinet? Man, I truly feel for you. Whenever I think about the arcade scene of the 90s, I hear *two* things. "DAYTONA LET'S GO AWAY!" and " GAMEOVER YEA! ". I remember other games, but those two sounds are always the first to come to mind. When I build my Time Machine into a Delorean I'll drive up to CO and take you back to hear it.
Every second sunday is saved, thanks to you guys!
ExciteTruck for the Wii is a good one, especially for a launch title. The added bonus of being able to use your own .mp3s is great, and shout be mandatory on racing games!
Wave Race is not only one of my favorite racing games, but favorite of all time. I remember going to Media Play and spent $60 on it. And thanks to you guys, I learned about the rumble pak Japanese version which is my favorite!
Some of my faves through the years: Enduro, Rad Racer, Jaguar XJ220, Ridge Racer, Rage Racer, Rally Cross, Demolition Derby, Need For Speed I and III, Gran Turismo (all), Rumble Racing, 2002 World of Outlaws Sprint Cars, Flatout, Race 07, Dirt 1 and 3, Grid
ModNation Racers is probably one of my favourite racers along with MK: Double Dash, XGRA, and Wave Race: Blue Storm
Whoever was lucky enough to have a soundcard with Sound Blaster AWE32 and Road Rash on PC would be able to listen to the music in the same quality as the console versions. Not just plain MIDI, but also with those recorded samples.
Yup, we talked about it in the Gamecube episode. great game.
Ridge Racer Type 4, Ridge Racer Evolution, and San Francisco Rush 2049 was my favorite.
We talked about Diddy Kong Racing in the N64 episode. Great game with lots of variety.
Daytona usa is perfect with The racing wheel
Yeah also on Saturn
Poor Mike will never be the same! :)
Dirt 3, Rallisport 2, Wipeout Series, Mario Kart Series, Midnight Club LA, Burnout Takedown\Revenge and last but not least: Smugglers Run 2 - best racers ever.
If nothing else, the endings of your videos make them worth the watch. Everything else is bonus footage for me :)
A place I do some at work has the Sega Rally Championship arcade machine in the entrance area, played it a few times, it's being used as a time trial challenge for singers and bands that visit.
The handling does take getting use to.
Thanks for giving props to Burnout 3. I love that one, and I think the Burnout series went downhill after they removed crash mode in future games, turning it into just another racing series.
Ones I like are Neo Drift Out (my favorite racing game EVER), the Lotus Turbo Challenge/Top Gear series and Lamborghini.
The Top Gear series for the SNES are my favorite racing games especially Top Gear 3000 it had such a sense of speed into the game, the cruis'n series on the n64 as well, outrunners, super monaco gp, super mario kart, nascar rumble on the ps1 is another great racing game, these are my favorites, it would be nice to see some of your videos talking about Top Gear.
Rush 2049 was one of my favorites. The arcade and N64 versions looked very similar to me at the time. Cruis'n World was also one of my favorites just because the arcade machine was found at every local food stop and arcade in town. Top Gear and Jet Motto are also two I remember the most.
Test Drive LeMans for the Dreamcast. One of my favorite racing games of that generation. Very underrated, and a blast to play. Smooth progressive scan graphics and great racing.
oh my melons, those road rash sound effects absolutely killed me.
Road Rash 3 on Sega Genesis, Ridge Racer (All of them), Daytona USA (Arcade) It was a blast to play with 8 other people in the arcade. Even better when you got the cars that moved. Mario Kart 64, and still more. Great list BTW!
I loved Sega Rally Championship 1995 as a kid! I used to play it on the PC and as far as my memory goes it looked pretty much the same as the Saturn version. "GAME OVER YEAH!" XD
Holy crap~! Props for listening to Yuzo Koshiro's 'Maimum Tune' OST while playing Burnout~! Greatest driving music ever. I actually listen to it in my real car when I'm on the highway =D
Tourist Trophy was another superbike game.
I may have mentioned it last time you guys covered racing games, but I'm a big fan of Network Q RAC Rally Championship. It's a DOS game (I know how you gents feel about DOS) with a huge number of real world tracks, and a small number of real world cars.
The best part is the eurodance soundtrack. Really keeps you going on the stages that are more than 20 minutes long.
Game Sack has to be the most pointless and, simultaniously, most enjoyable thing I've ever watched on youtube...being in my 30s I can really appreciate the nostalgic value...keep it up guys. I may not have the older consoles anymore but I try to keep their memory alive through emulation (yes, dirty word, I know lol) thanks for helping me find a few more gems. Also, you guys are pretty funny...excellent use of VERY dry humour lol and if you're wondering why some of my words are spelled incorrectly - we use british english in south africa lol later guys.
All you're missing is Rock n' Roll Racing. Best Racing Game EVER!
I was kind of surprised that Star Wars Ep. I Racer didn't make the list. Not only is it a fun racing game, but it can probably go down as one of the best Star Wars games made, period. My go to platform would be the Sega Dreamcast version, but it looked great on PC as well.
Road Rash for the 3do is easily my all time favorite, it's one of the only racing games that kept me riveted in every moment trying to at least come in the top 3 at the end of the race .
Then i might have to go with Turbo for the Colecovision, the mini driving game bonus stage in Clockwork Knight 2 for the Saturn, Pit Stop for Colecovision ( great game that introduced multi layers of strategy ), and maybe another Coleco gem, Dukes of Hazzard
F-Zero GX is fantastic and I even enjoy the GBA games. V-Rally 2 on the PS1 and GBA look really good, for there respective systems and are a lot of fun. I really enjoyed Driver as a kid and Micro Machines is a great series.
my favourite is gran turismo 5, I love being able to buy cheap cars and upgrade them, and race on real tracks. I usually just like time trails in the game more than actually racing against other cars lol
gt is better than forza imo
Loved the 32 bit Road Rash for the art style and the soundtrack. Personally, my go-to for futuristic zero g racing is the Wipeout series. For arcade style racing, I dig the Test Drive games, particularly the soundtrack in 5. Last, but not least, my favorite simulation games go to Grand Turismo on Playstation and the GTR games on PC.
Great show as always, love me some Mario Kart for sure, and the ending had me laughing so hard lol!
Virtua Racing and Super Hang On are two of my favorites. Joe could probably talk about those all day
great as always, thanks!
We get that a lot. Even from our friends, family members and employers.
Also, another favorite racing game is Midnight Club LA. I just love the customization and the cockpit views of going 250 mph on the high way.
I've always thought Re-volt on the dreamcast is underrated, it's a good game!
Glad to see the 3do road rash on the list. I've a 3do with that, nfs, Fifa, night trap, samurai showdown, street fighter and wing commander from back in the day. I've always had a lot of luv for the 3do, those games are enough to make a 3do worth having!
WRC Was the first PS2 game i've played and in that era, it was awesome
Daytona, Burnout 3, and Wave Race 64 would all be on my list, in addition to:
Crazy Taxi - Dreamcast
Wipeout XL - Playstation
Manx TT - Saturn
Crash Team Racing - Playstation
There was also a Ridge Racer game that I got really good at, but I forgot which one it was.
Fantastic video once again. Can't wait for the next one.
Great list you've got most of my all time best on there. I really liked how the ps2 and psp outrun games worked together i think this was the first cross platform game I ever owned.
Yeah, I'm a big fan of Daytona USA on DC too. I like the camera movement, real feeling of great racing :].
Another great episode of gamesack
Some of my top non mainstream games: Flatout 1 and 2, DIRT 1 and 2, Rage Racer, Need for Speed Underground 1 and 2, and I'm a sucker for the sprint car games on the PS2 :)
Sack Bros amazing episode like always
The first three Wipeout games on the Playstation were some of the best racing games of the 32 bit era. In fact the entire series except for Fusion on the PS2 are fantastic.
For me: speedbusters, need for speed II se, need for speed III, IV, Porsche 2000, hot pursuit II, underground, underground II and most wanted. Testdrive 4, carmageddon, carmageddon II, midtown madness, midtown madness II, Forza, project gotham racing 2, mario kart wii, mario kart 8, sonic all star racing and all star racing transformed. I also had a great time with A2 racer II, III and Vakantie Racer. Dutch racing games from davilex.
Diddy Kong Racing is my favorite! Everything about it rocks
Sonic and All Stars Racing Transformed, F-Zero X and Gran Turismo 3 are definitely some of my favourite racing games
Tons of great choices, guys. OutRun 2006 is probably my favorite. I do love the PGR series, too.
Game Sack YEEAAAH! :D
My favourite racing game is Carmageddon. Mainly a PC game but I think there was a Playstation version.
Thanks for putting Daytona theme song in there.. It took like 15 years to get it out of my head lol. I had the PC version when Sega came out
Great episode! Always love to hear about your hidden gems!
Btw a favorite racing/action game i like, Ray Tracers for the Psx!
Split/Second on the xbox 360, my brother lent it to me even though I wasn't into racing games at that point and he said "Trust me, you're going to want to play this."; he was right, serious white-knuckle racing with powerup-driven attacks that can take your opponents out.
I'm just amazed you were convinced by our awesome special effects!
