My wife was in LABOR in 1985, while the shows were in their first run, and it was half way through an episode of Cheers, which my wife and I were watching. Her contractions were close and I asked her if she was ready to go to the hospital.......she said "Well......as soon as Cheers is over." This show means so much to us then and to this day. The characters are deep, personal friends. The chemistry between Norm and Cliff was so incredible, and these two incredible actors, along with the writing, is what made it happen. The show was a magical moment in TV history. I am glad to see someone will be owning the set and keeping it "alive."

Some years back, my younger brother and his roommate, both of whom worked on the fringes of the Industry, often gave epic Hollywood parties. In place of a living room, they erected a full barroom. I attended one of their parties, where, upon entering, I spied two lookalikes for actors Wendt and Ratzenberger seated at the end of the bar. To my delight, I discovered these were not lookalikes, but the actual actors. Some guest who worked nearby at Paramount brought these two legendary hard partiers along. I don't remember much of the evening, but I do recall I had a great time.

@@thedbcooperforum I watched a great cast interview where George Wendt suggested that the prop person put cans of warm Near Beer into the soda machine in the bar's tap. He also added some salt into the glass each time to give it that foam look since the drink would always appear flat.

      @@acslater8899 Quick search....
“It was near beer, and it was non-alcoholic beer, and they wanted it to be draft,” Wendt said during the panel. “So it was warm and flat, and the prop man put salt into it. So it was warm, flat, salty, non-alcoholic beer.”
Adding salt to beer enhances the appearance of bubbles without the hassle of actually carbonating it, according to Renegade Brewing. It briefly forms a foam head - characteristic of a traditional draft pour - when combined with the beer’s carbon dioxide.

We are there and gotta say, food was excellent, I knew that it was only used in the opening segment, but from the moment you walk up and the theme song is playing outside, CONSTANTLY! To walking through the cardboard cutouts of the cast , it may not be the set, but it is definitely Cheers, this was a great experience, especially for a TV raised child of the 80s , we felt right at home, even though we’re New Yorkers, probably the most hated group in Boston, but not at Cheers, I grown to dislike NY over the years, we actually don’t like living here anymore, but Boston is a clean beautiful City, and will definitely be visiting again one day, I highly recommend it! “Wouldn’t you like to get away?” If you haven’t been there, it’s worth the trip! What is amazing how these two actors (George and John) made their characters so fun to watch on Cheers! They also both appeared in an episode of the sitcom "Wings" when they went on vacation. On Star Trek Deep Space Nine they had a chubby alien character name "Morn" (Norm spelled backwards) who hung out at the bar on the Space Station paying homage to the character on Cheers.
