It was well produced as all the 00s and generally as all songs before 2020. Now they lack of dynamics and they don't have high frequencies many songs after 2020.
Agreed, early 00's production is incredible. Do you feel that's due to high production budgets and recording studio's still being so heavily used? The rise of bedroom production (while great that it's far more accessible) perhaps has lead to a slight decline...
@@sammymccormack_ I've heard that all productions from Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish and other artists are high budget, so it's not exactly the budget. It's a new trend lofi productions with heavy bass and drums hit so hard and loudness around -8 -6 LUFS that distort. Also grunged vocals to distort awfully in the chorus, are common in new productions The same happens here in Greece with some trap songs. But also in Greek laiko now bass is so heavy and high frequencies are barely listened, there are like muddy mixes. Unfortunately music has changed in a bad way, there are many depressed songs with many low frequencies. Dance songs are only few and most of times they use samples or melodies from 80s, 90s, 00s songs.
OMG! It just sunk into my brain just now (around 2:00): The reason Madonna dressed up like a boxer on the images for the album is because she was channelling like Rocky. And i saw the original images and they were taken in a boxing ring. Those 2 horns are literally Rocky. And now the name Hard Candy makes sense, its a boxing name AND she opened a bunch of gyms named after this! She's a genius 😂😂😂😂😂😂 that legato horn hides the subliminal. I like Madonna's subs because they're always affirmations. Even her sub in "Music" is empowering.
3:56 I feel like I'm in heaven! I could always hear this sound and I always wanted to hear it in isolation. Do you know how many times I tried and failed to get this percussion right. I never thought I'd get to see it broken-down! Awesome video! 8:00 I wonder why Timbaland does that? Because he also does it with vocals so that have all of that at once? Maybe that's why it sounds so good and replayable even though it's a repetitive groove. 13:18 See, with all of that going on...why does he need those synths at 8:00? Imma try it. 14:57 I feel like Madonna's technique in all her songs is to sing the root and the 3rd. I think American Life is where she mainly used her main voice. I can hear 2 voices in 2 different keys here and then it's been doubled...no?
There's a lot to unpack in these comments ahah, think I'm going to have to go on yet another Madonna information diet and learn everything there is to know! Such a fascinating and innovative artist. How did he get the stems?
same question here, because at some point you can hear the horns on Madonna's acapella part, so i would really like to know how he obtained them
@@SnobArtistusually the instrumentals will be playing while an artist records vocals so sometimes it’ll get picked up by the mic.
@@ConswaMcGaga i know how a recording works, especially in the studio, that's exactly why pointed out "the bleeding", but made no sense for me at that moment because most often official multitracks dont contains such errors. But now we know what happened
Hi hot guy
This song wasn’t number 1 in the united states im sorry
Crazy it didn’t hit top spot in the US, hey? A heavy hitting duo and was #1 pretty much everywhere else - including Australia (where I’m from)
But everywhere else - that counts more than US. (It was number 3 though)😂
I hate this song it's really bad
Interesting! What do you not like about it?
I just adore the way you're sincerely enjoing music I want to be friends 🥹 Love the passion that you show ❤
