Doki's been my introduction to Street Fighter, and fighting games in general, and I'm honestly considering purchasing very first ever fighting game. I only have a Switch so my options are a little limited, and I'd prefer something easy to learn, but I'm gonna give it a go!

Capcom Fighting collection (featuring several old school FG), as well as the upcoming Marvel VS Capcom collection, Killer Instinct (on Nintendo Switch Online), Blazblue Central Fiction, Guilty Gear accent core +R, Guilty Gear strive coming soon, etc... From experience, Blazblue tutorial is quite wordy, but helpful. I haven't tried skullgirls yet, but I have heard it's tutorial is quite helpful for beginners. look up what looks the coolest /most interesting to you and try it out, and good luck. 🙂

Iv been playing Street Fighter since SF2. I have never practiced Gief because I could never to 360 motion reliably. Your and Doki's stream convinced me to try modern Gief. I cant play modern for any characters I know (feels weird and limiting) but this Doki arc has convinced me that Modern controls have value. I have learned a lot from your and brian's streams teaching Doki.

I'm gonna be honest my first Street Fighter game was Street Fighter II': Special Champion Edition on the Genesis. I was one of those old guys who thought modern was for scrubs. After watching Justin teach Doki, I gave it a try... Not gonna lie, Modern Zangief might be the most fun I've had since I started playing. I'm saying this as a Guile main for 30 years.
So your story (from a fg boomer), combined with the entertainment being made by Justin's (a world famous hardcore player) Modern Gief in the channel, and also by these casual streamers and Vtubers from outside the fgc, is proving that the SF6 devs were right about adding this option. It helped propelling the SF franchise's reach to a completely new level that was unthinkable by the own devs and by the fgc in the last decade. And some old schoolers hate it, but that commercial and cultural success has a potential to benefit the strictly hardcore fgc anyway, mainly the people who do stuff at Twitch and/or YT.
Maybe it would even be a good idea if all 2d fgs start using that from now on, as long as it's in the same optional manner of SF6. Actually, thinking about it, the games that are rivals to SF6 (from SNK, Arcsys, etc) will probably do it precisely because lacking an accessibility option will be a disadvantage from a lower name franchise trying to match the biggest name franchise that has the accessibility option in question. In short, they might be pressured to do it. SNK's upcoming FF has a similar option to nodern controls... so it's really starting.
