    Respect for this vid. Letting the machine operator show the procedure. And respect to Titan for giving this man the opportunity. It takes one to know one Titan, Jeff knows his stuff. Keep that good work rolling gentlemen.

    I am glad that someone had the luck to start like this. I was out of school straight to a new CNC machine, without experience or proper training, with no one to show me how to work. After a year of frustration, I was out of milling... After a few years, I ended up on a co2 laser. That was easier, but I can't get over that starting failure with CNC milling job. You look like supporting and a good boss. Be good to your boys and I am sure that they will be equally good to you. By the way, nice machine. Wish you many finished parts with her. Good luck!

    We got all Makinos in our shop a51nx and this a81’x controller is definitely way different and user friendly. Hope to get a a81nx as our next HMC center... pretty nice 10 quick tips for people who are not very familiar with HMC centers. And Makino definitely is a beast in itself

    Love the A81. About a year ago the company I work for ended up purchasing one and gave me the opportunity to help set it up and run it. It took me some time to get used to the touch screen though lol.

    I wish you had made this video a couple of years ago when we first got our a51nx in.
    One thing i have found helpful is
    For changing pallets without having to go back to the part ready switch is use “m60 m69”
    In MDI to change pallets.

    The Pro 6 control is pretty nice, very good layout of the hard buttons and they even put that handlebar on the bottom to rest your hands.
    For some reason the Background edit doesn't let me read ahead through the whole program as it's running, which was possible on the Pro 5.

    Cool video....how do you deal with thermal expansion on such a huge machine? You did not talk about a warm up program.

    • @xxxxfreezexxxx
      @xxxxfreezexxxx 5 лет назад +2

      This machine have cooled core ballscrews. Also the flange of the motors for the axis are cooled. The b axis have a jacket cooling and the Spindel itself is also cooled. You have to warmup ofcourse. But it’s super stabil when it is warmed up.

    Doesn’t this machine have a balluff chip reader on it? If it did then you can set the tools up offline on a presetter and then automatically transfer the tool offsets to the machine when the tool is loaded.

    • @davidward758
      @davidward758 5 лет назад

      Balluff tool interface is an option. It is more common in high volume automation installations. It is a good system to eliminate errors in loading tool length and diameter offsets but there are other standard systems in the Pro.6 control that can prevent offset entry errors.

    Hey Titan, another great Video, and this may be off topic a bit, but why have you been using Master Cam lately for your machining instead of fusion.. I'm asking as a Fusion user, I have never used Master Cam.. Keep up the great work and Merry Christmas sir!

      @Marius Ipad Actually, moron, his comment was quite obviously pointed at an owner, not an operator. Besides, this whole video was quite literally something they put together for the guy who's running it currently and to give him some screen time. He's going to be on camera a lot in the next few months, why not a few practice runs? Oh wait, the RUclips expert machinists can't handle such a thing! Gather your unified idiocy and take to the comment section at once!

    This is nice because there is a DMG DMU100P on its way to us and it wil most likely not be the only one. There is plan to get a second one 1 year or even less after the first one gets in.

    • @boxingipo9841

      Be prepared to pay high maintenance fees. DMG break down a lot. A more reliable machine is a Mitsui Sieke

    A bit confused why a $300 laptop with Fusion 360 or Solidworks is not connected directly adjacent to the $500k machine so that you do not have to manually load like you were in a retro 80's film.

    • @MrUberJoker
      @MrUberJoker 5 лет назад +6

      I agree partialy. It does help to set up network with your machine and PC. But maybe doesnt make sence if your doing many parts, production parts. If you need to set up 10+ diffrent parts and programs a day, then you basically need to set up data transfer trough the network to Save on time

    • @seanosborne8636
      @seanosborne8636 5 лет назад

      A $300 laptop will not work for very much as far as CAM software is concerned.

    • @justinl.3587

      A DNC system would make more sense than a laptop connected to the machine out on the floor. All programming is done offline and loaded into a program queue.

    • @kleinesmaenchen
      @kleinesmaenchen 5 лет назад

      Usually you set up a network so you don't have to fuss around with anything like that. Programming PCs or Laptops have no place in a production environment where it is loud, potentially dirty and definitely busy all around you.
