    This game was on a Friday night and I was up past my bedtime watching this game when I was living with my Aunt and Uncle in the mountains of Garrett County listening to this game on the radio. They didn't know I was up because I was using headphones to listen to the game. I was a teenager when this happened. The next day my Uncle said "they lost last night so you didn't miss anything." I told him "Wrong. They won on a Chris Hoiles grand slam to win 14-13." Didn't believe me until he watched SportsCenter on ESPN and confirmed what I said and asked me how I knew. I said "Radio and I listened to the remaining of the game using headphones." They couldn't ground me because what I did was not against the rules. Man do I feel old telling this story.

      Ha I also secretly stayed up late listening to this one, although I was at home and I just kept the radio low so my parents wouldn't hear. I had to scream silently when I heard Hoiles knock it out. Of course that's the memory I had in mind when I googled this video and got to read your comment at the top.

    This Seattle & Baltimore teams had a few good players. A Hall of Famer or two as well on both teams. I feel old watching because I can remember watching this when I was a 14 year old.

    Of all the down-by-three walk off grand slams, this could be the only one where the slam occurred with 2 outs and full count, in MLB history. Can anyone find another game where this occurred ?

    • @WilTonay

      Alan Trammell in 88 is the only other time.

      @@WilTonay true!! I think Trammell in '88 was the only other two outs / full count grand slam.

    No disrespect to the late Dave Niehaus, but they couldn't get the O's tv feed why?

    • @Chris-cq5pw
      @Chris-cq5pw 6 лет назад +4

      Charm City Gamer I don’t think there was one. Pre-MASN, it was HTS, and they only broadcast about half the games. The other half were presumably the local TV channel, but we never got that down south, and I think there were a handful of games that were radio-only. I could be wrong though.
