8 minutes into the video listening about the benefits, I was about to comment "dude, aren't you missing the biggest constraint to all this ie. Healthcare" and then you said just that. 😅 Your insights about village life/opportunities are spot on and I truly hope your point about a trustworthy healthcare and the general ease of living in a village comes true. I'm Pahadi myself and am at the edge of making a decision for some time now. 🤞

The remote-work culture is something that excited me even as a 14-15 y.o kid, where I had no idea of what things I'll pick up for future but all I wished for was working off a beach or something on a laptop or a little workstation. Then the concept of vacations fused with work and terms like workation or staycation started popping off and it made me so excited seeing some people out there living the dream. Probably the major positive from the pandemic is the boost of the remote-work industry worth a decade in just year or two. Freelancing remains the number one option or probably I should rephrase it as pyjama profit is up for grab like never before xD

So I went to Himachal, and asked the same question about healthcare and pretty much everyone has the same answer. " I never felt sick or any need to go to the hospital".
And I was baffled! Although you need healthcare when it comes to road accidents or some other unexpected casualties.
But yeah environment does take care of health aspect.

I have been born and brought up in village but after my 10th standard, I moved to city.
And, all this for getting good education.
Problems we face in village are good education, internet connection and the most important good hospitals.
I love being in village but when my family suffers through some illness, it is way more scarry to reach hospital at right time.

I have similarly think this in different way 1 month ago that
Before 10 year people move to city because of 3 reason
    Jobs
    Education
Better healthcare and some entertainment type better life
    Now
    Education is online
    Job remote
    Entertainment online
    Only healthcare Remain

Instead of going back to your village, I guess people will go to the locations they like. Like your native town can be in Rajasthan but for love if Moutains, you might go to Himachal. Rich employees will shift outside India as well.

To shift to village you don't have to spend.. But to move to some different places you need to spend lot of money and time to buy and select... Which i dont think people would choose to... They would save money and shift there village and maybe think later of shifting to the palace they like

This video is so relatable , also I had additional thoughts about living standards & ease of living of villagers (lower middle class & poor), My village is very peaceful place to live , very close to dam, jungles & waterfalls. One of the major problem is Healthcare , its about 2hrs to a trustworthy hospital. Another problem is internet , 4g is only option we don't have access to fibre or dls etc. Also when you come back from city to village you don't want to work , because everyone seems happy with whatever they have so you also join them 😂

I'm someone who's deeply researched this phenomenon. in my opinion, looking at why people switched from cities to villages from the lens of "opportunity" is very restricted. transportation is a huge problem, and so is convenience. you don't have uber, swiggy, rails, buses etc. in villages and that can be a big problem. other huge problem is hospitals. so short answer is, no, you probably might not be living in a village in 10 years, because even if there' internet, companies like amazon fresh, uber, swiggy etc. may not find it profitable enough to build their infrastructure there.

    4. I don't have any native village hence asked my Driver to take me to his village which I did, and I absolutely loved the idea of how it feels to be in a village. Peaceful and serene.
5 I tried to think of getting organic farming done as it's upcoming and required to get chemical free food for our health and this way I'll get to reside in village but haven't started on it yet ....

I love indian villages. Visited many in MH and GJ as a kid. Would love to know few villages in north India near the Himalayas and south India also...

Varun, what will you suggest and why, starting a startup in India or Abroad (which country)? Considering if I go abroad I will go for masters and all that long route.

Apart from opportunities there are other pros of living in cities like networking and the amount of knowledge that you gain from such a huge pool of smart people and not to forget the ease of acessiblity any services any products anything can be availed in cities

As long as people from cities don’t pollute the village like they do in the cities or bring in the city culture there. I love the idea of moving into a village and living a much more wholesome and meaningful life, only if it can be done mindfully.
