Ugly Dog just started painting baits I've only done 4 to me they look great my question tho I cleared them with Rust-Oleum 2x clear gloss I seen your video and ordered me the BSI epoxy 30 minute can I put it directly over the Rust-Oleum that I've already put on lures...or do I leave them be and hope for the best
I've been using the BSI now for awhile. I've had a bunch of fisheye problems, never touching the paint job. Turns out great when it goes good but hard to repair the aftermath.
Could you please zoom in on the bait while you are working, my old eyes can't see the results while your doing it, also, I thought you had to use a Turner, when doing epoxy ?, I been using KBS, and dipping, like the look, but I know it's not as strong as epoxy, since you aren't using a Turner, I'm gonna try the BSI, where do u get it ?
I will get a closer view and no I don't use a turner I use drip hooks just make sure you go over the bait several times with the brush to make sure its covered well
Thanks buddy ! Good to know, anyway to save a few bucks I'm in .. not selling any it's only for pleasure or so don't commit murder hahaha ! big thanks from Canada eh!
@@UglyDogLures i appreciate you. I use uv and kbs but for teethy critters I'd like to do 30 min apply but my wife would make me sleep outside if I build one more thing that would be brought in the house lol
Depends on bait size 1cc epoxy 1 cc hardener will do most baits the smaller the bait the less you will mix or the larger the bait a bit more 1.5 to 2 ccs of each
Decided I wanted to do it in a solo video that should have been edited out it's all we could do just to make videos as we are both suffering with covid right now
Hi from Italia, so bsi eposy is more impact resistent? I try to make handmade popper and stickbait for tuna game🎣 so I would use strongest epoxy. Can you help me? Thank 🤙🏻
Thanks Charlie. I've been wanting a new clear coat. Gonna be ordering some bsi. God bless y'all
You too bud
Good job Charlie! I wish we lived closer you seem like a cool shit. Terry Ontario Canada
Thank you I wish we lived closer too
Can one thin the BSI Epoxy to use in an air brush? And if so what would it take to clean the Brush?
I wouldn't even try it's way to thick

Just epoxy over one and see I have never done that
@@UglyDogLures will try it today and let you know how it goes
@@glennmcleod4751 lots of folks epoxy over a clear.. on purpose

Never had any problems out of bsi but I had a lot of problems out of dev con it's the reason I switched
I been having the fisheye prob with my true coat epoxy Also it’s annoying. Do you’s know how to eliminate the issue?
What brush do you use to apply epoxy? I have trouble with disposable brushes shedding bristles into the epoxy.
Yes I use painters tape and acid brushes and still have to watch for stray hairs been looking for a better brush my self
Apply some CA glue on the handle side of the brush handle with the bristles up.
I use cheap fan brushes from hobby lobby... Rinse with acetone before they set up. Can reuse numerous times
Where do you get the glitter please
Hobbie lobby or Wal mart I use extra fine

How does that stuff compare to KBS any better cheaper I've used that KBS it's good but I find pricey
It is actually 4500 psi stronger than kbs its 14 dollars for the two bottles and you can do 50 to 60 baits with the set

How many times can you use a syringe or do you clean them between lures
Multiple times i just run a little 70 percent alcohol between to clean the syringe
Exactly what I was wondering and my question! Love your work and thanks for all the help!
Lol, wish I would've watched this BEFORE I left the tape on while epoxying! Took half the paint off the head of my bait, lol
I did the same thing
Do you use a turner or are you just hanging them?
I hang them with drip hooks have all the stuff to build a turner just very little time to get it done
@@UglyDogLures i appreciate you. I use uv and kbs but for teethy critters I'd like to do 30 min apply but my wife would make me sleep outside if I build one more thing that would be brought in the house lol
Yup I know the feeling lol we appreciate you bud
How long do you wait if applying a second coat?
Epoxy with being bsi you won't need to apply a second coat just make sure you Get good coverage on the first coat
At least 5 hours minimum if you apply 2 coats
@@UglyDogLures Thanks, first time useing. Didn't get good coverage on first coat. Ed.
What kind of glitter do you use?
How much epoxy do you mix for a bait? I want to waste the least amount as possible.
Depends on bait size 1cc epoxy 1 cc hardener will do most baits the smaller the bait the less you will mix or the larger the bait a bit more 1.5 to 2 ccs of each
Do you need to clean out those syringes? And where did you get them?
1cc of each on the epoxy and I buy the syringes at our local vet supply
what happened to the epoxy dye you were going to use.
Decided I wanted to do it in a solo video that should have been edited out it's all we could do just to make videos as we are both suffering with covid right now
Why the syringes?
To get a good measurement on my epoxy
