  • The Breakfast team spoke about whether it's OK to tell off other people's kids, and it's fair to say Daniel's views didn’t find agreement with all viewers.
Daniel Faitaua says it's perfectly acceptable to discipline other people's children because kids are becoming more and more disrespectful.

It takes a village to raise a child. Im a school bus driver with a bus full of little ones. Most of the time theyre awesome. Sometimes i have to tell them off. How else will they learn? Teachers are telling your kids off too, pulling them in line helps them learn boundaries and grow into better adults

I agree with you actually. I teach abroad and come down on kids who are mean, rude and disrespectful toward others in the class. No apologies.

Everywhere it says: ' children should be supervised at all times ' . If it is not happening our adult's responsibility is to step in

While every child is an individual with individual needs and responses, they are not "Little adults", and need to have boundaries set for them. Psychologically, this actually makes the child feel safer and more confident because they know what's expected of them, and when the expectations are reinforced (when they deliberately or accidentally test them), it reassures them that they understand where they fit in and how to behave.

Off course it is if the parents aren't there and something illegal or completely inappropriate is going down.
