Wow! This is awesome! Our video of dad's Flame sucker runs fast, but without any load - to produce output from a flame sucker and run as this does, while looks so damn pretty! Amazing! Thank you for sharing your build
I'm glad you like it! This flame eater is "very" powerful, could drive 2-3 generators simultaneously. In this video the same engine drives an oil field pump, and a generator. ruclips.net/video/5gWyV1meMak/видео.html
This is the most beautiful example I've ever seen. Literally I am speechless. I am a perfectionist, and this is an engine I would be proud to call my own, let alone be able to say I made. How many hours do you have in it?
+Monel Funkawitz I'm glad you like it! This one was my first Lanz Bulldog engine, took me well over 250 hours to make it - I'm a perfectionist too when it is about engines!
+Val Martin I'm glad you like it! The operating principle is very simple, the hot air in the cylinder cools, a vacuum is created which moves the piston.
Model building is a nice hobby and can be started at any time. The most important thing is to take the first step, because that is the only way to get far. You probably know this well, because it's true for everything ...
Maybe one day you could make another one that runs and sounds like a real hotbulb? Would be neat to do stuff like the zero rpm on a small scale. Look up Lanz Bulldog Ackerluft, the guy made a small fully functional one
Awesome. Spectacularly beautiful. Too difficult for me. I'm doing a small motor vacuum easier. If it works I will be happy. This is the most beautiful I've seen. But I have a big doubt. I tried many websites and I think the Lanz Bulldog tractor engine is a real explosion of two times. Not operated by vacuum. Is it correct? Thanks. (sorry translator)
Thank you for your comment! The Lanz flame eater is not a simple engine, it needs many hours to complete it, and of course some experience as well. The real Lanz Bulldog tractor has a very simple two stroke hot bulb engine. Its greatness was its simplicity.
+Rainhill1829 Thank you, I'm glad you like it! I appreciate your comment, knowing that you've seen many famous old engines - It was a great experience visiting the Pioneer Acres last year, when I saw first time in my life a real steam tractor plowing.
Beautiful... The generator and lighting really take it over the top. Are these kits you build yourself? And if so will you share a link on where you found them. Great work again.
Thank you for your comment, there is no link or source where you could buy the kit. This engine is scratch built, I only bought the flywheels from Martin Models, the rest of the parts were done in my workshop. I'm attaching the link of the original stationary engine what gave me the idea: ruclips.net/video/a7_RHKihE5o/видео.html
Do you intend to make blueprints for this sir? I would be honoured to buy the plans off you. Not for publication or reproduction, just for personal purchase.
+3256ds This is a scratch built model, I made all the parts myself. This type of engine is not available as a kit. Therefore, the price is quite high ... Send me a message if you are interested.
+Слава Карпов I've seen a RUclips video about an old Lanz Bulldog stationary engine, and I built an (almost) similar flame eater engine on this idea. The cylinder, the piston, the valve system is similar to Big Nick flame eater from Bengs Modellbau, with some modifications. it'was a time consuming project, to make it similar to the original. Here is the video: ruclips.net/video/a7_RHKihE5o/видео.html I hope this helps.
This piece of perfection just about makes me want to know, study and learn engines. Thank you sooo much for this.
+Patrick Cote Thank you for your comment! I'm glad you like it!
The generator is very beautyful! Nice!
I'm glad you like it! Actually a nicely dressed small DC motor...
Beautiful as a engine can be - wonderful!
You CAN be proud!
Thank you lordofbasement!

I'm glad you like it! The operating principle is very simple, the hot air in the cylinder cools, a vacuum is created which moves the piston.
The skill and equipment needed for something like this is one of the few things in life I envy.

great job/ great video. many thanks Colin UK.
Please inform.from where
The lanz flame licker model engine can buy
You have to build your own engine, it is not available as a kit, or ready built model.
Can you by the kit ready to put together? Or is there some machine work that you have to do? COST????

+69MrSjani very interested, Not sure how to send a private message with my info.
69MrSjani how do you build the parts? Lathe machine?
I'm sorry but could you describe in detail how you have gathered, I just wanted to make myself the same.
