From my personal experience, born in Karachi Pakistan (proud Pakistani) but ancestors from U.P Bihar Allahabad & a few extended families even living in Calcutta, all my uncles have visited India in mid 80’s for attending their cousin’s weddings, I have literally grown up on stories of their train travels, as they trailed through India, I can’t never imagine a confidence like that, but things were different back then, people even used to go to India for medical surgeries which were high quality n economical...I can tell you early 90’s n 2000’s our two cricket teams were our joint love Azharuddin, Sachin, Ganguly Saeed Anwar, Wasim, Waqar were household names. Somewhere later...politics of hate n division became the popular weapon.... my heart is split all over the subcontinent though.
