Thanks, I will keep the videos coming. I have tons projects on the way.
People are not so much scared as just waking up to the reality of the need to be prepared for any possible emergency. At any time you could loose power, your job, your home. You just never know what might happen.
People are scared about the future of the economy tho and that has people stepping up the preparations.

Yes, I heard that. How horrible for those people with no power and no heat. In NYC they do not have fireplaces or propane heaters. Most use electric or boiler heaters, which need electricity to run.
Unless something changes really fast, this will only get worse. The panic buying will continue up until the storm hits, I believe. They are saying up to 2 foot of snow may fall.
That normally leads to panic buying on its own. Now.......

Well... you can live in a tornado area, fire area, hurricane area, earthquake area. Whatever, there is always the possibility of a natural disaster. Strange thing is that I am 90 miles away from the coast, normally safe from hurricanes.
They just happened to be freak super storms. What can you do. Be prepared.

I believe that people should learn the old ways and I practice what I preach. I collect antique hand powered tools. But I am also energy independent and have my solar power. If that fails, I have a pedal power generator. I like my electricity but can live without it if needed. Either way I am happy.

    Thanks.
Check out theoffgridproject and thediyworld websites where I show you how to get off the grid cheap.
The Off Grid Project is an ongoing experiment in off grid living but I have been supplying my own power and water since about may or june.
When you finally make it, it sure feels good.
I am experimenting with electric motors and batteries to get longer range in a car.

Why in GOD'S name people stay living at a place that will be hurricaned?
If I have the knowledge in such situation I would move most likely to a place without the Risk of to be blowing away.
