Probably the same kind of reaction I got when I met Hell Yeah when they first came out and when I met Tom Maxwell and told him Nothingface was my favorite band ever.
Or like when I dropped an ultra rare DTS Surround 5.1 remaster.. Japanese import... "PEACE SELLS BUT WHO'S BUYING?" In front of Mustaine.. and he like examined it like he didn't even know it was out there.. or.. moreover I think like.. Holy Fvck.. somebody bought this fucking thing... ($59.99 @ the time)
Snot was too unique for the era they came out in. They definitely have that 90's sound but nobody sounded like them, they truly had their own sound with the way they mixed nu-metal, punk, funk, hardcore, and hard rock. Nobody has done that to this day either. Lynn and Dobbs death is still the saddest shit ever. They were just getting out there and working up to the top and it was all taken away from them. RIP TO THE KINGS
i always wondered why this band never made it big. i didnt know that the lead singer died. they should have big like deftones. definatly way fucking better than alot of the other shitty rap metal bands out there
Still remember the day he died, used to stay up late to hear a metal show on the radio at midnight. As soon as I heard my heart dropped I knew they were about to make it just like korn was. R.I.P. Lynn and dobbs 😞
Snot and this song in particular influenced me to the top when I leadsang my metal core band way back in the day. These guys and (hed) pe just took prime time in my songwriting and composition learning. Way more then Korn did. His death was a tremendous loss.
(hed) pe picked up snots guitarist in the early 2000’s. I used to see them tour with Nonpoint in GR Michigan back in the day. Never got a chance to see Snot but they fucking stuck with me after almost 25 yrs and one album
Snot was ahead of their time, In my opinion. They sound far better than most of the music they play now. It all sounds the same, Which is what made me headbang the very first time I heard Snot. Damn shame Lynn died... They could have been so much more than they were. R.I.P. Lynn.
Thumbs up if you come here often to never forget this fucking amazing song and band and most of all vocal that has a special place in your life and made a big impact on you and your musical life and career... I just can't find the right words to describe this... The planet is about to colapse, all good things pass away...
i love snot. they really should've been more popular. not trying to sound like that kind of guy but get some will always be their best and truest album..
First heard this masterpiece in the game Apocalypse from 1998 when I was like 5. I remember how the tame dog videoclip intro got me to think "uhh, what is this thing", then all out of sudden the scream and the drums at 0:54 kicked in and I was blown into pieces. I can't thank my luck enough to have been born in the 90s. Just a few years more and I'd have most likely missed all of this unforgettable stuff.
Cracking game. Cracking song. This made me whip the PS1 out and smash apocalypse which is also a quality game. Thanks to that game I found system Of a down
JoSe1997JvT It played occasionally during stage 3 and 5 when you were facing against the big music screen. The game included a couple of other contemporary popular songs, so it would of been possible to play through the game once and not having heard all of them in one run.
Going from this video I was about to latch on to Poe "Control" I remember it soooo well. I loved the game, I saw Fear Factory with Spineshank and Kilgore in Wolverhampton, on the way up we were listening to Snot. At the gig we found out Lynn Strait died. Bad times but amazing gig
The accident might be the biggest loss in all nu metal history, imagine the genre and band if they could make new music together, all of them, quite sad

They sound kind of like RATM mixed with Limp Bizkit. And yes I do know Snot did a song with Fred Durst of Limp Bizkit. RIP Lynn and Dobbs, your music is fricking awesome!!
These guys rock so hard, they're like Pantera and Tool, such a shame they produced so little, I should do my homework and find out where the rest of the band members went off to.
Strait must have struck a chord with more than a few people. A Snot tribute album titled "Strait Up" released in 2000, two years after his death. The vocalists from Sevendust, Slipknot, Limp Bizkit, Korn, Soulfly, and System of a Down all did Snot covers for the album.
One of the Coolest band to see Live!!! Saw them 4 Times.......The day Lynn Died, was a VERY SAD Day. Shared a Beer with him at the Glass House in Pomona Cali.
Back home small town Canada loud come on every day at 3:30 so we had to rush home and record it on a VCR. I used to bring that tape with me to house parties. There wasn't many metalheads in my small town high school and some people would get pissed off ""Who put this B.S.on where is my Pearl jam video"" So I always had to protect and keep an eye on the tape. Today is the first time i heard this song!! jeez i donno what kind of life i was living until now.....but this song is great. And i am shocked to see the top comments too
Thank you very much. Its nice to know someone on this video has some freakin manners. That seriously sucks, he is/was a good singer it seems. To bad he didnt get the chance to make his way. God rest his soul. Thank you once again for the info. I believe I will start listening to this band more. =)
thank you so much for this video. snot is very inspired im just a new age kid who wish to knew this band earlier before hes gone or i shouldve born earlier then 1990. :( Lynn is the most amazing guy ive ever seen.
Man. I discovered them today and instantly fell in love. I am vastly annoyed that decay has hit our civilisation so much that RUclips suggests a rather depressing homonym with the "snot" query. This $not guy could record himself taking a shit and it would gather more views than the original Snot. No wonder humanity is facing imminent collapse.
I bet if Lynn Strait never died they would've had longevity like Korn. Their one and only studio album aged very well.
Korn did not age well at all
@@smokinnplatez1426
They didn't, but their early music certainly did.
Lynn would have been the Cobain of metal in 5 years.
@@sabwcu83 kinda, yeah

I went to a Soulfly meet and sign, in 99 at my local HMV. The look on Max’s face when i presented a copy of Snot for Mikey D to sign was priceless...
What was that look ?
👀

The world was robbed of an epic singer. We still miss you Lynn!
"why did you decide to name the band Snot?"
"all the cool names were taken" -LS
😂😂😂 Nice.
They wanted it to be something vulgar and that’s what stuck
i always wondered why this band never made it big. i didnt know that the lead singer died. they should have big like deftones. definatly way fucking better than alot of the other shitty rap metal bands out there
They are 100% better than Limb Bizkit
if Ozzy Osbourne "not a fan" makes a tribute album for you and youve only put out one album you were doing something right. that album is badass also
Agree 💯
No way.
Ha! Well, I went and saw Clutch last year. BORING!! So your take on “shitty rap metal” means little to nothing.
Always dug Snot from their beginning. They always reminded me of a hardcore Sublime.
same, funky metal
Same here.

@tyler g His dog. One that's on the album cover with the ball.

They would've been such a big band but they will always be big in our heart's. Love u snot.

Forever a classic.
Can't we just take a time machine back to the 90's and save music?
People have been saying that since music was around. It's always changing
Roger Toledano True
If we can go back let’s save Lynn
Terror Inc and dimebag
Weadfreek in the 90s you would have to wait for radio to play this. Now you can play it whenever you want.
Best band ever. Snot 4 ever!
I agree, Get Some is one of the most underated albums in rock history.
Rest in peace Lynn and keep the beer cold till the day we meet wherever you are
this song gives me chills, the way he sings that first line oh my god!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So happy I had the opportunity to see these guys live in 98

Question is does it still blow you away a decade later?
2022 and still blows my mind as a person born in 98
I bought the "Get Some" Snot release in 1997,not knowing anything about them,or their sound. I loved it. I still have it. R.I.P. Lynn and Dobbs.
Snot was my 1st concert ever! I think I was 13 at the time and I saw them at the Palace in Hollywood in 1998. They were badass!

2020 & SNOT is still in my rotation. Better Get Some!!!
