Your probably right. Petunia only has two wheels and her tip isn’t pointy enough. Overhaul is stable but he doesn’t have enough strength sometimes. Quantum really is a great bot
Razer is my favorite bot of all time, I like that Quantum used a similar design but put their own spin on it. It's a really cool bot. That said, crushers just aren't as effective in the arena as they used to be. They're also arguably less destructive than spinners are.. which is also what they're weak to.
Quantum is basically a modern Razer, if you take into account Razer was made in the late 90's. You can tell Quantum uses a less cumbersome system than Razer by sound alone, Quantum is so quiet compared to Razer.
The guys behind Quantum/Spectre did work with the Razer guys when Warhead was around, and even made their own scaled down version of Razer (30lbs iirc). About as close to Razer revived as you can get, I mean just look at the shape of the wedge. Grant Cooper also designed the house robots.
@@TweezersUnlimited Grant Cooper didn't "design" them - he updated the old house robots. Put a new shell on Matilda, modernized the flipper and flywheel system, gave Sir Killalot some upgraded armor and aesthetics, but Chris Reynolds was the one who designed all of the house bots
Its notable how everyone knew that quantum was a good bot... a stong contender so all they ever drew it against was powerful spinners and a bot trhats massively durable. but its an american show so can we really expect anything else?
Most of the British teams ended up going against immensely powerful spinners. I would go the easy route and say the producers rigged the fights, but that's a rocky and petty road to go down. So I'm just glad we finally showed we could hang with the Americans when it comes to robots, we're not all just about flippers in the UK haha.
@@sirwoollyjumper4893 There were a good few great bots from countries outside of the US, but if there was any way that team could get a hard pairing or if there was a decision to be made you know 9 times out of 10 that was going in the US bots favour. Its not the first time that someone has said that though, its not really new news... there's been international teams for a while who have had strict deadlines to meet that US bots have been allowed to break. I can understand why BB would do that, to save them money on paying for transport and hotels ect, but it happens way too consistently and teams have been way too disappointed with strange decisions for it to be something that the international teams and BB's has agreed with them beforehand.
Agreed. It’s a bit shit that it happens that way but all we can hope is that an international bot is tough enough to make it all the way through the tournament. Be it UK, Brazil, China, etc etc
...Were they not supposed to fight good robots? You said it yourself, quantum is a good robot. Thus, they get matched against equally good robots. They beat two robots that didn't make the top 16, lost to two robots that did make the top 16, and then beat an equally matched wildcard to make the final tournament but were not able to win it all. Quantum put on a good show, proved that a penetrating robot can still hang tough. What more could you ask for?
@@sirwoollyjumper4893 In 4 seasons, there has been 2 semifinalists from Brazil/Australia and a finalist from Brazil. Additionally, in a side tournament, there was an all Brazil finals, so international bots have had plenty of opportunities to shine. Thankfully, Discovery's Battlebots is good at showcasing international bots, unlike BBC's Robot Wars.
Quantum is probably the best “bite” bot out there. Good job, quantum

@@EngineerRiff ye

Got broke by Deathroll
Qauntum is one of the best modern crushers in robot combat, razer would be so proud,

It's a shame since Quantum was a great grabber.

@@sirwoollyjumper4893 yeah, I love the fact that they brought back the king in the form of the prince

Decent song. Heard it on El Camino.
Imagine they added flamethrower around the "bite" weapon of it after penetrating the armor it could completely flame the insides
thats what i was thinking
