      That pellet trap and target holder is like the best thing I've ever made. Behind the pink foam board are 3 large boxes that are 8 inches deep with rubber mulch. Behind that is plate steel, so it is impossible to shoot through. And the rubber mulch makes it very quite and backyard friendly. I will make a video on it one day. :-)

    I noticed that your rest supports the barrel, I was wondering if that is taboo, as we've all been told or if you see no reason to support the stock? Also wondering if you've given the Crosman ultra heavy pellets a try. They claim 19gr but my scale says 18.6, they load and shoot well in the gen3i systems. Interesting video, thanks again!

      Thanks for watching Garnet. I have not tried the Crosman Ultra Heavy pellets in the Gamo rifles yet. I'm not following the issue of the barrel resting on a rifle rest? The butt stock is also supported by a mono pod. But, your the second person who has mentioned that, so maybe I'm doing something wrong. I will look into.

    Bought a swarm evo. Set up the scope that came with it, and nailing 1" groupings at 20 yards. What's your issue?

      It sounds like there is no issue with your Evo. :-)
      I'm really stoked it works well for you. They are also priced right.

    The reason why you were not getting good accuracy is because you had the barrel resting on the shooting tripod rest..

      Good eye...that would do it.

    • @backyardairguns

      Help me understand why that would impact accuracy. All my bench rifle videos I have a bipod of some sort supporting the front of the rifle. Are you saying I should free-hand hold the front of the barrel?

      @@backyardairguns any pressure or contact on the barrel can affect the Harmonics of the barrel.

      I think he is 100% correct. It’s because of the funky recoil both forward and backwards that a gas ram or springer gun produces. They often don’t shoot well off a typical rest that a pcp or firearm would perform off of. The back can be supported but try looking up military hold and use that with your hand up front. This is why I gave up on springers long ago. They suck donkey dong to me. Rather use a pcp that shoots hole on hole with little effort.

    I wish they would put open sights on all of their rifles knowing how hard they are on scopes 😢

      Good point. I think the Gen3i pellet loading gadget would get in the way of open sights. Try the UTG BugBuster scopes found on Amazon. They cost not much more than $100 and work really well with the Gamo Gen3i rifles.

    Of all tgat you had on the table which would you pick for all around accuracy and power?

    • @backyardairguns
      @backyardairguns 3 месяца назад +1

      The power part of your question is easy... The Magnum is more powerful than the others. But, there is a price to pay for that power, and that is it is rated at 40lbs cocking pressure, where the others are at 30 lbs. My arm gets really sore if I shoot and cock the Magnum over 20 shots. If I were using the rifle to hunt larger critters like possums and rabbits, I would use the Magnum. If I'm plinking targets in the backyard, I would opt for the Fusion or Viper. I shoot those all day without getting sore. I'm not sure which is more accurate. I will do a video this summer comparing which is most accurate.

      I'm a big fan of the Gamo brand. Not so much on the Evo rifle, it did not compare the other Gen3i rifles.
