The Sword of Doom, known in Japan as Dai-bosatsu Tōge (大菩薩峠, "Great Bodhisattva Pass"), is a 1966 Japanese jidaigeki film directed by Kihachi Okamoto and starring Tatsuya Nakadai. It is based on the serial novel of the same title by Kaizan Nakazato.

Thank you. I spent more time trying to unravel this film's history due to its strange pacing and ending. I wish we could've got a sequel.

Recently tried to watch the Kenji Misumi's trilogy of Satan's Sword, and I couldn't. I love Ichikawa Raizo and he is amazing in other roles such as The Betrayal or Daisan no Kagemusha, but not here. Nakadai completly stole the show, the character and the plot!

I've been trying my best to find myself a copy of Satan's Sword Trilogy online. If I do find a copy, it's usually priced higher than average. One day, it'll be in my collection. One day.

@juanalegrearnau62 Yes, I prefer a physical, official DVD in my collection of chanbara films. It makes things very difficult, depending on the rarity. I was finally able to find a copy of Heaven and Earth, but it's region 2. So, I have to watch it with my laptop.
