I watched this movie as a 4 year old and it terrified me. I completely forgot about this movie until this morning, while working overnight, I was watching some weird 80s horror movie channel. Out of nowhere I remembered this movie. Took me a minute to remember the name of it but wow. 30 years it’s been. It’s scary how fast the time goes.
My rankings, BEST to WORST: 1. Toulon's Revenge (Amazing story, sets, acting, action, gore, this is perfect example of when FullMoon was good) 2. Puppet Master (The original, mystical film, I tie it with the 3rd movie) 3. Puppet Master II (Creepy film, I like the unholy/dark & depressing atmosphere, the puppets feel like demons in this movie) 4. The Final Chapter (Best effects in the entire series, I love the plot with the company and demons fighting for the secret) 5. Puppet Master IV (Same as above for the effects, the puppets actually feel like they are alive, though they had turned very soft, but it's all part of the plot and makes sense) 6. Curse (The first of the poverty series, it has many flaws but still has that Puppet Master feel, the puppets are still heroes but they don't wimp out on killing humans again!) 7. Retro (The script was much better, it's a shame about the budget issues, but it's a sweet, innocent little prequel) 8. Axis of Evil (Even though Rising had more puppet action, I prefer this one, I love the connection to the first movie & the remade Toulon hotel room & I found Danny relatable) 9. Axis Rising (Much more action than the last one, but too many plotholes from the previous film that could have so easily been filled, Scott King played a good nazi though) 10. Vs. Demonic Toys (Cheap cartoonie movie, it's a Christmas tradition for me to watch this, I only hate it if I put it with the others, but as a standalone movie it's a little bit fun) 11. The Legacy (Had potential of filling holes, but just made more, some of the scenes were not necessary, but I liked that Peter returned and the music ques were good choices.)
I think most fans would agree that the first three Puppet Master films are the quintessential films in the series. After III, the quality nosedived and just kept getting worse and worse to where the films were pretty much unwatchable.
I suppose your right. P.S. I liked 1-5 to everything after that was a colossal let down *COUGH* *COUGH* Curse of the Puppet Master and Legacy(Seriously I hate clip SHOWS, what on earth possessed them to think a clip MOVIE was a good idea?).
Yeah, Puppet Master was never much for continuity, altho I love them all up to part 5. I think they just wanted the puppets evil again in this one, and saw making Toulon evil as the simplest way to do it. You could say he somehow got demented and deranged now that he was brought back from the dead, and he psychotically thought they needed brains for the formula and that Carolyn was Elsa. xD
Lol ikr... I think it's because Charles Band is just a major con. Full Moon Pictures had really fallen, but FM Toys was doing surprisingly good, so he decided to make some sequels as fast and cheap as possible to promote the toys. Then I think interest died down after that, when everyone accepted the old Full Moon was never coming back.
The reasonawhy Toulon is not himself when he brought back to life is: 1.The potion can only be used on figurines and must be mixed with a specific part of the brain,so when you carelessly pour it down to a corpse, it will hit unspecific areas and awakening the bad/repressed side of their personality. 2.The potion itself is actually an artificial lifeform that can mimic the personality, intelligence, or sometimes memories of the person's brain they are "feed" on. The potion is latently very hostile and unstable, so when they are fed on wrong part of brain, their natural tendency won't be repressed completely.
I remember Puppet Master 2 when I was small boy in the early 90's. Use to be scare when of this movie, and my childhood crush of the black hair lady; Charlie Sparding as Wanda. She so beautiful in that movie.
I didn't like the way they made Tulon the bad guy in this movie, or the primary ingredient for the formula (that was never re-visited by the way), or (SPOILER ALERT) how Andre thought whats her face was Elsa reincarnated when her soul was still in Ms. Leech. All said though, I would watch it again it was a good movie.
Yes but the original idea was that gallgher creatrd tunneler leech and pinhead. Thats why you dont see them in the trunk at the beginning if part 1. Also in pm 2 they still didnt know leech was going to be elsa. That was all a new idea for 3.
When I was a kid I saw the puppet with a drill head drill out someone's esophagus, I have been obsessed with gore ever since. Can someone recommend this movie?
That scene is in Puppet Master 3 Toulon's Revenge. Tunneler drills through the seat of the Nazi driver that's escorting Toulon, drills through his back, and comes out of his esophagus.
a perfect burning sequel of the previous one, with more frightening moments, scary surprises and a new tiny killing machine, unforgettable bloody masterpiece, the show must go on.
@@101sanford Jester doesn't do much, but Leech Woman has the ability to regurgitate powerful leeches that can drain a human body of blood within minutes.
@@101sanford Pinhead has supernatural strength. So with those huge hands of his, he can use any blunt object, and deliver a killing blow with one hit. He also likes to use his strength and those huge hands to strangle people. In Puppet Master 3, there's a scene where he uses some kind of chord, and strangles a guy with such brute force, he literally cuts the guy's throat while strangling him with the chord. He can also drag a full grown human body around by himself. He also likes to punch people which is quite hilarious. Apparently he can deliver quite a blow. In the 5th film, he broke a man's jaw with one blow. I'm not joking about that either. It's funny as hell lol. Pinhead is the muscle of the group.
If I were to condone to how horrible the comments are to this vid I could imply maybe it's the really just how darn silly the movie is. I couldn't sleep after watching just the trailer. Freaky!
Puppet Master can be made into video game in online gaming like PUBG, Fortnite, Counter Strike and Fighting games (with crossover of Demonic Toys, Blood Dolls, Dollman)

@Hero world Gaming and the new one is even worse....
Good ranking. PM 3 is my fav too, although it does sort of reboot the series by reimagining Toulon as a good guy.
@Hero world Gaming yeah and that one wasn't even made by full moon

I love how the jester in that one part is like who me
Yeah imagine getting him for your 13 birthday and peeking out from under your bed when you locked him down stairs. Yeah we aren’t playing that game.

Okay, I guess that makes sense. I wish that was explained in the second movie, but thanks. 🙂
Also they used animal brain matter.
Part 3 when they bring that one dude alive he starts choking out the doc I think. That kinda explained it to me at least.
Love this movie man so much memories with this franchise
