I think a lot of it has to do with how he sings. he doesn't just stay in one octave, he uses the full range of his voice and he sings from his diaphragm. sing too much from your throat and you're going to destroy your voice box.

For those of you who said that Brian did not sing about a woman in this particular song "Forever". Please note that (1) There is a picture frame where there is both a lady and Brian .( 2)There are a pair of lady's shoes on the floor. (3)There is also a make up kit on a table. All of those depict that Brian sang about a lady. It is true that he show cased his material things like his car, perfume, watch etc more than the lady he was missing. But he actually sang about a lady. Watch the video again and pay attention to those 3 points
