It may feel like you're already doing this - but the fact that your wrist's are hurting suggests that there is a momentary delay in this happening which is why your wrist's are copping the brunt of the impact. I would recommend you first, rest your wrist's until they recover from injury. Then once healed, strap the up with a few layers of physio / sports tape to support them whilst your train to perfect this move. You can also use sprung floor or a soft yoga mat, or even soft grass, or sand, to help relieve the stress whilst practicing. Tommy Gun
