Excellent review - Makes me want to purchase it. One thing holding me back is the release date 2017, im looking for a great gaming router, as i there are 3 of us in the same house hold that game, plus a million other devices connecting to the internet. Would you recommend another router since this one if now aging ?
Massive question even though I’m late. My house is old and has no Ethernet ports. Can I just plug the router into the wall and hook an ethernet cable to my pc? Do I need to connect it to my modem or router? Would be helpful.
Hello, you said the gaming band is optional does that mean that I can use all three bands for standard devices without having one band dedicated just for gaming? I have about 20+ devices I would like to connect hense the tri-band feature. Additionally, does it automatically assign a band to the device or do you need to select which band you would like to connect to in the wifi settings?
The Asus might be good. But i own the Red D Link AC3200 Ultra Tri Band 890L MIMO MUMO which is a 3 stream send 3 stream receive simultaneously using Beamforming. It is a fantastic great router with six high gain antennas. The antenna are very omnidirectional adjustable but they are fixed. I live in an old 100 year old house with thick concrete walls. I have one 42" tv in the kitchen, one 42" in the living room panny plasma connected to roku. A 55" tv in my bedroom, and Samsung LED tv in my mum and dads bedroom. I can tell you that with my setup i get good connection in all areas of the house. I have a 200Mbps subscription with Virgin Media. I keep the 2.4Ghz radio as one network for older G and N devices. I keep the 2 5Ghz radios as one network. The two 5Ghz radios, one high band radio is set to AC and the low band radio is set to N mode. This router has great range. I can het a signal outside my house in the garden. I can have 8K Peru video streaming from RUclips in all tvs in the house with no buffering issues. And i can have my PC and my smartphone and my mums smartphone and tablet connected at the same time. 8 devices. So i will definitely be upgrading from my D Link 890 to the D Link AC5300 8 removable antennna version with 4x4 MIMO MUMO.

I know this is old, but is this app for the RT as well?
i am from NewZealand and want to play the game at Cambodia, Do u think that would be helpful if I use this router?
Use Netgear night hawk xr500 with Duma os you can set parameters and will only connect to server near Cambodia 🤙
What is range
what is the app called?
How do you link aggregate
I have this router and have set up VPN so anything that connects to my wifi is protected
do you need internet before getting this, or does it come with its own internet?
.... Of course you will need internet from a provider.
😬
No you don't need internet, it has unlimited data plan with Asus internet service...
Don't pull his leg
yeah it comes with an unlimilted data plan for free its really good!
