I think panning the voices has just sold me on this :) I've been looking at this for a while. Deffo the rack version, I do not need any more keyboards not do I have the space! In-fact I don't really need any more synths full stop but it's always nice to have new toys to play with haha :)
I've been on a waiting list for many months, probably since around July of last year,,,,and when I get notification of availability, I'm in,,,, no hesitation on my part...Come on Sweetwater...
I used to have a Polysix back in the day. But now they're around the same price as a UBXa - do you think the UBXa would be a suitable substitute for the Polysix ?
Add a bit of fizz from the tiniest spring reverb with parametric eq and flavor pro static ever so slightly and I’m all in there 😂 I love this synth not going to re sell period to much bang for the buck bravo Behringer!
That’s correct. Starsky superimposed an overlay to his OB-X8 to give it the look of a vintage OB-Xa. So you ARE looking at a cutout. But it’s not the 4500$ synth cutout 😊.
So, with cash in hand while serious allergic to the price of OBX8, i went for it anyway. Why? One word, “CrossModulation”. The behringer sounds excellent and fully half my gear Uli-kissed. I love cross mod! It’s what Roland got wrong on Zen core. It the one thing that is usually garbage in plug-ins (Roland ACB excluded). I hope Oberheim adapts some of the UB features via new firmware. Theres no reason they couldn’t
Say what you will about Behringer, they’re only taking advantage how inexpensive it is now to make these instruments with a more than acceptable level of quality. Something Moog didn’t or couldn’t take advantage of. How many times must a company go out of business before they realize there are viable alternatives to their premium brand and their failed attempts at polyphony.
The Deepmind is more Rolandesque. Sounds different. Less agressive. The UBXa is a clone of the Oberheim OBXa. A very strong sound. More agressive all around. The DeepMind is more powerful in what you can do with it, but very dependent on its fx. The UB has a straight in your face sound quality (much more "brassy") that doesn't depend on fx, but is also quite limited in scope. I prefer the DM. The only Oberheim I care about is the 2 voice.
@@4CloudySkymost analog synths since the prophet-5 have a processor. That’s not the definition of a digital synth. It’s the definition of a programmable synth.
behringer has always made some old things better...cheaper...see roland...roland didn't understand how to build cool new versions of 808 and 909...drum machines without individual outputs...what is this crap? behringer simply listened to the market...like this oberheim copyclone
The Behringer is so so very close, just needs a boost in the ‘fizz’ part of the EQ to make it spot on
Behringer got this spot on I think.
One day I will have an awesome poly analog synth

Just got the UB-Xa a couple days ago. It’s absolutely wonderful.
Are you still loving it today?
@@mikemeengs5720 Absolutely! Playing it right this minute. I strongly recommend it!

Much better I like polysix but it’s budget I had a Kong monopoly
Excellent...
Did you not try the circuit degradation modes?

You forgot to cut the wrong takes starting at 11'51". But a great review. Thx!!

9:19 You're looking at a $4500 synth
Screen cutout looks like they gave a cutout knife to a child. Unbelievable.

It sounds good, its price point is good and if you can get past the politics it’s a winner. I won’t be buying one.

It’s just great to have choice and you can’t have too many synths😂

It's digital, it's built on raspberry pi
